The Storm is upon us, few saw it coming and fewer know we stand on its fringe. And when it passes over it will be so immense you won’t even know it is all the same Storm A Storm created when a butterfly fell to earth twenty four years ago. And the World will be forever changed.

Elon Musk: There are no lords and peasants at Tesla. Everyone eats at the same table. “I actually know the people on the line, because I worked on the line, I walked the line, I slept in the factory, and I worked beside them. So, I'm no stranger to them. There are many people at Tesla who have gone from working on the line to being in senior management. There are no lords and peasants. Everyone eats at the same table. Everyone parks in the same parking lot. At GM, there's a special elevator only for senior executives. We have no such thing at Tesla. We give everyone stock options. Many people who are just working the line, who didn't even know what stocks were, we've made them millionaires. And I just want to say that I'm incredibly appreciative of those who build the cars, and they know it.” New York Times DealBook Summit, 2023

He’s floated Space X. How many consumers are being price gouged buying rockets? I ask again — give me an example of how Musk becoming a trillionaire (only on paper — he doesn’t have a trillion dollars under the bed) affects you.
Replying to @afneil
Are you being facetious? Such levels of wealth distort democracy with access to power. Such concentrations of wealth are bad for the consumer - it eliminates competition by swallowing up competition via M&As, market dominance etc. and don’t get me started on the term “self-made”

Elon just created 4,400 millionaires in a single day. 400 of them are now worth over $100 million. These aren't VCs. They're SpaceX employees, and the list includes welders, technicians, and cafeteria staff, because for two decades the company paid every level of the workforce in stock instead of higher salaries. Juan Hernandez immigrated from Mexico and took a $28 an hour contractor welding job in 2015. He says he didn't even know what SpaceX was. The company gave him a $10,000 equity grant and let him buy more shares through payroll deductions. That stake is now worth $880,000. Trevor Hise's parents wanted him to take a stable job at General Electric. He picked SpaceX instead, stayed 12 years, and accumulated over 100,000 shares. At the $135 listing price that's $13.5 million. He's 37 and semiretired. His words: "The magnitude of this has been ridiculous." The most telling detail came before the listing. Over 100 employees quietly banded together and negotiated a group wealth management deal covering up to $5 billion, because none of them had ever needed a wealth manager before. Software IPOs have minted millionaires for 30 years. This is the first one where the money went to the factory floor.

The #VATsTheProblem petition has now reached 200,000 signatures. Chef @ChefTomKerridge spoke to Newsnight about the huge cost pressures facing hospitality. A 10% VAT rate for hospitality could help save hospitality businesses in the UK. We’re making great progress, but we need 1 million signatures to make the case to Government. Last year, a video went viral of a scared, 12 year old girl in Dundee. She was waving weapons, shouting at a migrant to leave her alone. Almost immediately, many on the left were calling this girl a liar (and worse). They were saying the “far-right” were whipping up ‘anti-migrant hate’. People like @HumzaYousaf & many more called it ‘bullsh*t’. Many, including people like @jdpoc while calling her a liar & talking about her ‘hatred’, showed pictures of the little girl. Just to make sure everyone knew who the ‘liar’ they were talking about, was. A fundraiser for the girl was mocked, suggesting she’d use the money to buy “machetes and IronBru” She was a child. Their posts were seen by hundreds of thousands of people. She wasn’t ‘hate-filled’, she was scared. Yesterday, her version of events was proven to be true. She was sexually harassed by a migrant and another child physically assaulted too. The man and his sister were prosecuted. How shameful that children need to arm themselves for protection. How shameful that adults will deny their reality. How shameful that some people are so desperate to defend migration into this country, that they will literally mock children who are victims of their crimes. Shame on you all. I’ll be fascinated to see how many of you publicly apologise to the girl, in the same public way that you called her a liar. I won’t hold my breath… I hope this girl is ok. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/…

This is eye-opening. Even the weak Euro didn’t prevent the self-inflicted collapse of German industry. All the bad policies will one day be seen as the largest self-sabotage of an advanced economy ever. If the left can ruin Germany, imagine what they could do to your country.

Welcome to the gangster state. The government has jacked up the Channel Tunnel rateable value from £40m a year to £118m a year without providing any clear justification. In response the Channel Tunnel is taking legal action and is refusing to invest anymore in Britain Its CEO says that between business rates and corporate taxation, the Tunnel will now pay 69p on every new pound of revenue generated in the UK. Business rates are basically being used as an extortion tool.

Iain Dale left stunned by calm caller on LBC A composed caller named Mike told Iain Dale on LBC that Britain “will remain almost ungovernable until we have mass deportations”. The exchange was striking because the caller spoke in measured tones, clearly articulating a view held by millions of people across the country. Yet Iain struggled to process it, repeatedly falling back on “you can’t do that”. Mike highlighted the obvious disconnect: the British public have consistently voted for lower immigration, only for politicians to deliver record levels instead. “There’s a massive disconnect between the political class and the people of this country,” he said. “We never gave any consent to this and there’s certainly no mandate for the scale of immigration we’ve seen.” When Iain pushed back, saying you can’t deport people here perfectly legally, the caller was unflinching: Caller: “You mean end indefinite leave to remain?” Iain: “You can do that for future people but you can’t do that for people who have already got it. That would be outrageous.” Caller: “Yeah you can. Of course you can.” Iain: “From a fairness point of view, you can’t suddenly tell people who’ve got a perfect legal right to be here that we’re changing the rules now…” Caller: “You can, Iain.” Iain: “Well you can do that but is that really the kind of country you want to live in?” Caller: “Yes!” Iain continued to argue that you can’t “take it out on perfectly legal, law-abiding people”, clearly unable to grasp how widespread this frustration has become. The public didn’t always feel this way. Years of politicians ignoring the public on immigration have shifted attitudes dramatically. As the caller made clear, people never voted for this transformation and the consequences of fixing it now rest with those who created the problem. Well worth a listen. The gap between Westminster and the rest of the country has rarely been clearer.

This is a sexual assault—unknowingly captured by a mom filming her daughter’s wrestling match. Kallie didn’t know her opponent was male. But she knew something was very wrong. Today @ADFLegal helped Kallie sue the WA officials who placed gender ideology above her safety. 🧵⬇️

Surely Starmer cannot survive losing two defence ministers and a PPS all in one day because the Government is not serious about its primary duty, the defence of the realm. General Election now.
We owe those who serve the UK the kit to do the job and the loyalty to stand by them when it's done. We are failing on both. I’ve spent my whole time in government making that case. Number 10 will not listen, so I am resigning as Minister for the Armed Forces. Letter to the PM below.🫡🫡🫡⬇️⬇️
