This was Palestineโs first ever flag bearer at the Olympics, Majed Abu Maraheel, in Atlanta โ96. Abu Maraheel was killed in Gaza last month. Unable to receive adequate care at Gazaโs destroyed hospitals, he died of kidney failure.
These killings donโt figure in the death toll.

The NZ government needs to do more to back international legal efforts to end the war in Gaza. The recent International Court of Justice ruling is a damning indictment of Israelโs illegal occupation. NZ should speak out on this issue as we have in the past.
