So let me make sure I understand this: Black and taking a knee = unAmerican; White and taking the Capitol = patriotism; Black and protesting for your life = rioter; White and denying the election results = free speech. Law & order has always been a dog whistle. Change is coming

We are sad and troubled by the events unfolding at the U.S. Capitol right now. In light of this situation, we’re pausing our scheduled social posts. Here’s how to pause outgoing posts if you’d like to do the same: buff.ly/2XePskv

Imagine if #BlackLivesMatter were the ones who were storming the Capitol building. Thousands of black people laying siege to the seat of government — in the middle of a joint session of Congress? Just imagine the reaction.

Mitch criticizes $2,000 checks as "borrowing from our grandkids to do socialism for rich people." Wrong. Most Americans desperately need it. But Mitch's $1,900,000,000,000 tax cut was really socialism for the rich, and it was financed by borrowing from our grandkids.

If your Representative or your Senator votes against this after voting to give themselves a raise, vote them the fuck out.
News: the U.S. House, 275-134, voted to pass a bill to expand direct payments to $2,000, from the $600 level in the latest Covid relief law

This is critical to understand. If corporations don't have to pay a fair wage they are getting a bigger walfare subsidy than people in poverty.

Every year, Americans spend $153,000,000,000 to subsidize McDonald’s and Walmart’s underpaid workers. While conservatives are railing against assistance for the poor, greedy corporations are picking our pockets.

How did we get to the point where one senator can single-handedly thwart assistance that's desperately needed by tens of millions of Americans in the worst public health crisis in a century and the worst economy since the 1930s?

So are we going to keep complaining or are we going to do something about it? @RBReich Get a media blitz together. You have the power to get people to act.

Please spare me the GOP's fake outrage about the deficit. They had no problem giving billionaires and corporations a $1,900,000,000,000 payout, but now that their constituents are hungry and on the brink of eviction, it's suddenly time to tighten the belt.

BREAKING: You could have passed the more comprehensive HEROs act back in May but it sat in your trash bin while Americans are going hungry and homeless when you were arguing for tearing down worker protections. This is way too little too late.

If we can spend $740 billion on defense, more than the next 10 nations combined, then we can afford to pass the bold relief that the American people need right now.
