The key to saving the environment is not looking backward, it’s moving forward. I realized this the first time I visited Italy twenty years ago. Everything was clean and green. The rivers sparkled. The lesson for me was obvious: the answer is not underdevelopment. The answer is progress. When China was poor, the air was so polluted that people could barely see the blue sky. Today, blue skies have returned to their cities. Development does not only create wealth, it also provides the resources needed to restore and protect the environment. Some environmentalists want us to preserve every aspect of our biodiversity, including the mosquitoes for example, so that researchers can fly in once every ten years from their universities (which build particle accelerators and billion-dollar laboratories with their pocket money), study our ecosystems, and count how many people died from dengue outbreaks. They want to buy our air through carbon credits. If carbon credits were such a great deal, they would be selling them to us, not the other way around. Cleaning every river, lake, and water source in El Salvador, and ensuring they remain clean and sparkling, would cost roughly $12 billion. Where is that money supposed to come from without economic development? Carbon credits? The path forward for our country is the path of Japan and Singapore, not the path of the Congo.

I hate to break it to you - but the United States is an absolute, incoherent shitshow. The idea that we have ‘representative government’ is ridiculous. If that were true we would not have wasted billions killing Iranians for no reason at all. Some people wanted this - but the voters who elected this government did not. Let’s go further. When Trump goes to China - he brings our ‘great billionaires’ with him. I can’t think of any more obvious symbol that we live in an oligarchy that does everything it can to manipulate outcomes - and that voting is a bit of a joke. It’s like he’s bringing with him ‘the ruling elite.’ Because that is what he did. We have at least 40 million illegal aliens living here. Our business ‘leaders’ engineered this by bribing politicians to keep the border open - because they wanted to pay low wages and make mucho $$ for themselves. When people objected because their incomes were falling - the business leaders accused them of racism and funded Barack Obama to become POTUS. The USA is $40 trillion in debt - and no one has a plan to solve that problem. Absolutely no one. This will blow up one day - and it will destroy normal people who save in dollars - because the unspoken plan is to destroy the currency and save the rich and destroy the rest. But people who own our homes - like Blackstone or Blackrock - won’t care because their assets will follow inflation. Everyone else will be reduced to paupers renting from them - their bank accounts gone. The United States today is hopelessly dysfunctional. It lacks a coherent population that can even agree on anything. It is bankrupt - but the rest of the world is propping it up because they are also scared of what happens when the dollar collapses. It doesn’t have any smart leaders - and we have to watch insiders doing oil trades to make $$ on the Iran war - and the administration itself sells shit coins. Our foreign policy is a total joke - not strategic in any way at all. It is driven by special interests, and then not even followed through. And people are actuality making money on it - pump and dump coming straight from the White House. This is a hell of a way to celebrate 250 Years! At least we can have a cage match on the White House lawn that degrades our entire history and underscores just how bad and ridiculous things are! Thank you for your attention to this matter! Enjoy the circus! If you’re lucky you will be dead when the music stops!

I'm actually in awe at Indians managing to mass psychosis themselves into creating and believing in an entirely fake caste system for China. Pretending that it matters in China. Making tweets in Chinese talking about it and pretending to be Chinese people.
>China have different caste group's in their army , >Shangs don't get high level rank in chinse army because, they treated like shit in china Shang girl. Shi girl

I was the product marketing manager for @GearsofWar 2. We did zero focus testing on the ads. The team was locked in together. Total trust in each other and in what we were making. Taste and confidence.
Genuinely, what were they feeding Xbox 360 marketing

There are different types of modernism and brutalism. There are some real-world locations that could work perfectly as Imperial with minimal changes. The Sydney Orchestra wouldn't.
Replying to @gunk4188
The Empire's aesthetic has always been modernism and brutalism. The City of Arts and Sciences is just that.

Whenever someone uses some foreign regime as a byword for scary politics or an example not to emulate, the message completely falls flat if living under such a system would mean having economic security, a sense of belonging, opportunities for power, etc People often forget this

I think this is my favorite 40k book, but man the ending is a emotional gut punch. I love how it portrays life in a Hivecity while shitty is still worth fighting for, and not some grimderp hellscape.

I wish ODSTs showed up in Campaign Evolved, like I'm 99% sure they would just be the marine body with a Reach ODST helmet and Chestplate but the would almost just be enough for me atp (custom UNSC CE Marine ODST model by @EtherealEOD)

Both the Jedi Masters and Palpatine wanted Luke to kill his father. The entire point of that plot point is it shows that the Jedi and Sith are two sides of the same coin. Same thing with how the Jedi and Sith got destroyed for the same reason: expecting Anakin Skywalker's loyalty to their orders and philosophy to override his love for his family.
This scene really explains why Palpatine was so sure Luke would turn after he defeated Vader until he threw his lightsaber away. If he can get Jedi as wise Dooku & as powerful as Anakin to start the path down the Dark Side after killing in cold blood as the result of a duel, why shouldn't it have worked a third time

The Imperium of Man is a society engineered completely for war of attrition. They have entire worlds dedicated solely for the manufacture of tank and artillery shells. Krieg alone probably fields more new regiments in a year then the entire UNSC Army does in a decade.
Hot take of the day that will probably get an argument thrown at me. I hate power scaling across fictional universes, but the UNSC would give the Imperium of Man a hell of a fight, their oribital platforms would absolutely FUCK up Imperial ships, and the Infinity alone could -

The Imperium of Man Conquered most of the Galaxy within 200 years. The UNSC in the span of 30 years was pushed all back to Earth and lost 23 billion people. A single Imperial Hive world could probably muster enough forces to fight the UNSC to atleast a stalemate.

Another problem for the UNSC is unlike the Covenant the Imperium would be waging a of unification not one of genocide so surrendering would be a valid option. Also the imperium could try to get the Insurrection factions to ally with them.
