In this colored grid of pink, green, blue, yellow cells in diagonal rows, any 4-by-4 square outlined will contain equal numbers of cells of each color. Not true for a 5x5 squares. For which N will an N-by-N square drawn on this grid be sure to contain equal counts of each color?
