Time to delete my X account. I don't post much, but I used to enjoy the space for educational and political discourse. But X is now largely a collection of political vitriol including constant @elonmusk propaganda posts. We are what we consume and I refuse to consume more. See ya

If we don't hurry up and play ball, we ensure that the learning in our classes becomes exponentially irrelevant to our students' lives. We owe it to them to engage with this technology and to figure out how it fits into #OntEd learning and spaces.

Employers: we support your mental and physical well-being. Also employers: drive during a snow storm to sit in an empty building to mark work that you could have done from home. Show me. Don't tell me.

How will diverting publicly-funded surgeries to for-profit enterprises reduce wait times, cost less & not impact public hospital staffing?

Talk about timing. In September, prominent developer Michael Rice paid $80M for land that’s been protected for almost two decades. Weeks later, Doug Ford announced changes to the Greenbelt. Rice’s land was suddenly set to open up for housing. thenarwhal.ca/ford-ontario-g…

This is what we’re dealing with at Queen’s Park…a health care parliamentary assistant who makes a mockery of the challenges in our system. #onpoli

Ontario hospitals ran up 6 million agency nursing hours, paying premiums of 2x & more the regular hourly rate in 2020-21– the equivalent cost of 7,000 full-time nursing positions. Decades of hospital management exploiting nurses & treating them as disposable brought us to this.

In education, you get what you pay for. If you want a world class education system (Canada is typically around 8th btw) then you need to fund it. See Finland. Education workers are provided resources, funding, and most importantly respect. The results tell all.

Premier Doug Ford reads from a teleprompter during his press conferences, but I wasn't aware till today that he's also fed pre-written answers to journalists' questions via teleprompter, as my colleague @empelletierLD points out.
Le journaliste @CharliePinkerto demande au premier ministre Doug Ford d’expliquer son refus de témoigner devant la Commission sur l’état d’urgence. Sa réponse est écrite en bas de la photo, à droite. #onpoli

A good public education is a competitive advantage Ontario enjoys against nearby US jurisdictions that have fallen for the voucher system scam, gutting their public schools. To lose ours would be disastrous for Ontario, but Conservatives *hate* public schools more than anything.

Destruction of public education followed by privatization was *always* the plan. This whole lot of Ford Conservatives are pure scum, including their propagandists like @brianlilley. They should never, ever be treated with anything other than scorn and distrust. Awful people.
