About repackaging Madonna as defying old age stereotypes as she continues to present herself in sexually stereotyped ways: Uh, no. You rounded the u-bend of the “self-sexualized- exploitation-to- self-empowerment” horseshoe like a NASCAR driver. Madonna is stellar, an immensely talented pioneer of this brand. It was fantasy bullshit in 1986, and remains so. She has never stopped pursuing the male gaze. The female gaze. ANY gaze that can she could claw from pornographic themes of her naked body, fetish wear as street fashion, BDSM coffee table books, performative lesbianism to high fashion gay male icon. The well is dry. There is no mainstream pornographic use for older women from which she can draw. Therefore she must go backward. If all she IS, is what she WAS, Madonna is performing a nightmare version of many an attractive woman’s mid-life crisis, over a decade past menopause. We know these women. Madonna’s injected, surgically carved and stitched face shows us how unsustainable it is to prize youthful f***ability as one’s main value metric. Sure, carry on Madonna-ing. We are no longer gazing, we are rubber-necking. No lit up “Applause” sign could compel me to cheer her on.

Hi Brian, Your points are in defense of a person, while Menno is arguing against a relapse into the cognitively dissonant days prior to “Pronouns are Rohypnal.“ The defense against using wrong-sex pronouns (compelled or not) is that they are marketed as kindness, but are in reality a strategically deployed TRA Trojan horse. You’ve conflated legally compelled speech with that of criticism after statements made within a social group. Ms. Phillimore made statements voluntarily on X about her belief that it’s now okay to relax and use wrong-sex pronouns AND her views of others in the group. To use the Rohypnol metaphor, essentially: "a few rufies are okay for personal use, and you’re all a bunch of uptight stiffs.” Ms. Phillimore did so at a time of personal and legal stress, in an environment where she had perhaps also relied on the group for financial donations for the legal fund. Some felt fleeced. Others felt that Ms. Phillimore had gone beyond stating personal preferences and had been criticizing them for not agreeing with her (new?) stance. This all led to hurty words of a specific personal nature being exchanged. It’s less about the pronouns, and more about the bridges burned in the flameout. Your third paragraph is such a legal-ish relativistic cluster-f**** that I can’t even… Ms. Phillimore was not compelled; she chose. She had the right of silence- she had the right to speak a different belief. And so, she did. No one has the right to unconditional support. @MrMennoTweets Have a nice day!
Hi Mr. Menno, I appreciate the thoughtful response. Three points I’ll make: 1. Compelled speech is broad category that includes forced speech backed by state violence (ie the government), speech mandated by private employers, speech compelled by social pressure with its attendant implications of lost friendships, contracts, opportunities, and more. Heavy criticism here qualifies as social pressure and “policing.” No one would hesitate to use that term if a public figure were being hounded to use a genderism congruent pronoun. 2. Polite participation in religious customs doesn’t amount to an endorsement of the veracity of that religion’s claims. 3. Compulsory speech is not less objectionable when the forced statements are true, even setting aside that in a plural society with various belief systems making often contradictory claims, “true” isn’t always ascertainable. In the United States, citizens are generally allowed to believe and say things that are false (with reasonable exceptions) and it would qualify as a free expression violation to impel a Flat Earther to say the planet is round. I appreciate the engagement and wish you a good day. -Brian

Have YOU read it ? The news is about the evidence, not the charges. The Feds took down Capone fraud tax, not for being a mafia Don. SPLC used donor dollars to pay ( motivate ) the opposition- which was not disclosed to donors and Feds say that is a non profit misrepresenting how funds will be used. Some donors might not want to fund: SPLC paying a guy, guy happens to break in to an org, copy boxes of records, returns originals, gives records to SPLC, SPLC breaks a story with a big “DONATE HERE” button and gets millions? How about SPLC employees open bank accounts in non-existent company names (why hide it?) specifically to hand out payola, payola is documented, then the bank audit says this is against fraud regs, shut it down. SPLC says- oopsie, transfer the balances to the main named SPLC account, please. Since Biden would not indict, I speculate that the statute may have run on other charges…but the evidence can be used for misrepresentation, to bust up this scheme.

Scott Wiener dismantles laws in the way of WPATH’s mission. Wiener sponsored bills (now laws) to: 1) make California a ‘sanctuary state’ for transgender children. 2) Erode consent laws. He gave judges discretion whether a perp needed to register as a sex offender re: “consensual” oral copulation and anal sex for 14-17 year olds involving someone within 10 year age range. 3) house inmates by gender identity. 4) removed laws which made it illegal for a sex workers to walk about in public. Neighborhoods with parks are now replete with scantily clad sex workers and slow moving traffic. Wiener is intelligent, condescending, cutting. Has the funding, has the smirk. MSM declared him to be a potential Governor and every day will be the Folsom Pride Parade. Wiener is no doubt disturbed by the reality of his fever dream exposed as boy rendered anorgasmic. Worse though…Jonni was credible…incredible. He faced the architect of the state’s trans madness. Wiener may have had a brief moment of humanity, accessible only through his highest expressed priority - sex. The rest of his self soothing was to deal with sheer panic. He cannot interrupt Jonni. He knows that this transfixing moment will be in every attack ad for the rest of Wiener’s political life. It’s a point where people will ask if he knew or should have known. But Jonni can’t be abstracted. To stay the course Wiener has set for the State, and perhaps for Wiener personally, has an unacceptable risk of negligence. To federal involvement. To insurance companies pulling coverage; to losing lawsuits against the state; losing support of astroturfed special interest groups, big donors, NGOs, the pedophilic-friendly (MAPs ), the old school SF gay men that don’t appreciate the trans takeover, the men who want the pipeline of “chicks with dicks” sex workers to continue; the progressives who were sold the lie that this was harmless. Wiener is an oily weasel backed into a corner, furiously grooming his whiskers. May this be only the beginning of his discomfort.

“These findings may inform decision-making and address families' concerns about the effects of testosterone on externalizing symptomology.” << the summary of this poorly conceived, peer- reviewed paper promoted by Turban. It’s not a study. This is a a stealth attack to undermine sensible standards of care while setting up a bulwark defense in malpractice claims. This is propaganda wearing science-y skin. Take note of this cancer - it’s meant to shield California, Illinois and Massachusetts “gender doctors” at minimum . @peterboghossian @ConceptualJames @LeorSapir

Always one. The NYT screens comments, allowing only what are acceptable positions for their readers. From story about a dog abandoned at the airport being adopted by a responding officer.

At what age is it no longer appropriate to say “why didn’t anyone tell me ____?” (e.g what’s a copay, cars need oil changes ,etc) Is there a statute of limitations past 30?

@HHSGov this statement by Planned Parenthood of Southeastern PA indicates a prima facie failure to obtain informed consent for treatment. The patient is not required to know or acknowledge the mental health aspects of dysphoria ; PP dismisses this as troublesome language.

Perhaps you’re missing a tipping point ? This reads to me not as normalizing, but near parody. Trans only LOSES by comparison to old and new self-destructive trends. Patently stupid shit is trending as ‘gender affirmation’? Good. This new use blows up the TRA-curated doublespeak veil. Trans loses its claim to ‘specialness’ and sinks into the dysmorphic soup along with all the other delusional and self harming practices. Trans only distinction all along has been the fetishes and paraphilias. Let that stand out.
