I'm so tired of them pushing this opinion without causal evidence.
Someone should also tell them that, of the papers I've reviewed, their real-world publications on this topic are only reproducible if I leave in their analytical errors...

So sure, if you leave in the data where age= '99' is "real" when it's clearly meant to indicate missing (unless you really think a bunch of 99 year old's run 6 minute mile paces)... and then also ignore invalid statistical models... I can make things up too and get published.
