Can’t even describe how proud I am. He worked so hard, despite his injuries and his pain and has just been elected with a remarkable majority. Norwich just gained another hard-working councillor @acatt1497 edp24.co.uk/news/local-counc…

Recently I feel like some Twitter threads start as if they’re just going to be a joke, until I click to expand and realise that it is actually a serious thread. Here are some tips to avoid giving the impression that your tweet is just a joke (1/7)

We’re not entirely sure what this tweet is supposed to mean, and we’re literally the dictionary.

Is it just me or is the Outlook search function completely broken? I could give the search bar an entire dossier on a specific email from 2 days ago and it still refuses to find it.

Our @HAP_Diagnostics paper now out in @ThoraxBMJ demonstrating automated PCR is far more sensitive than culture for microbiological diagnosis of hospital-acquired pneumonia including VAP in ICU. With @ThisIsAlp @Justin_OGrady @NorwichCTU and many more. thorax.bmj.com/content/early…

This really does lay bare the inherent xenophobia of it all. Not long ago it was "We don't need you", and now that we're in trouble, it is "ok I guess you can come back to work for us, but only temporarily, then get out". bbc.co.uk/news/business-5868…

90% of British adults have come forward for a Covid vaccine. NINETY PERCENT. Massive fail by the anti vaxx movement. #GetVaccinated #VaccinesWork
If you've found twitter a little...unedifying recently, here is something to cheer you up! Over THREE QUARTERS of UK adults now fully vaccinated 💪💉 Nearly NINETY PERCENT have had at least one jab 💥💉 This is how we leave the past behind, thanks to everyone doing their part!

For anyone who remembers my accepted abstract for a predatory vaccine conference, the image of the speaker ‘Gill Bates’ is still up on their website months later. Don’t miss her featured talk on mind control vaccines next month

And if you’re worried about missing the Early Bird registration deadline today, don’t be! It will be extended (like it has been every week since January)

My boyfriend was the target of homophobic abuse recently and wrote a piece in the EDP about it. It’s important that we all step in when we witness bigotry or abuse, whoever we are and wherever we see it.
After I was the victim of a homophobic hate crime, here is my piece in the @EDP24/@EveningNews about the need to unite against rising homophobic and transphobic attacks. This follows @NorwichGreens passing my motion in support of trans rights last week. edp24.co.uk/news/norwich-mus…

So, 8 amazing years after starting my own research group, I am leaving academia. As of yesterday I am a Senior Director @nanopore. I will miss my colleagues @TheQuadram and @uea but am looking forward to my new adventure developing rapid diagnostics!

For the past 15 months the team at @thequadram have been rapidly sequencing SARS-CoV-2 samples from hospitals in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, without fail, providing detailed genomic epidemiological analysis straight back to local clinicians within a few hours.

We just hosted a workshop on Imposter Syndrome/Phenomenon by Dr Megan Murray and it was absolutely brilliant - it generated a huge amount of discussion and made people realise they're not alone. Imposter Syndrome is so pervasive and it's important to recognise it in yourself.
