This is a dark day for Britain.
The state is reaching even further into the lives of ordinary people, taking decisions that should belong to parents and families.
It is not the government's job to raise children. It is the role of mothers and fathers.
This wasn't in Labour's manifesto.
Nobody voted for this.
How many more freedoms will be handed from parents to politicians?

YouTube and Twitch being on this list is crazy. Genuinely insane. This is public policymaking being done by the middle aged and elderly, who haven’t a shred of insight into youth culture, or the lives that young people actually lead

We live in a paranoid culture ... about Russia and China, about social media, about the consequences of free speech ... this is what happens when you let dim-witted authoritarians capture the reins of power. They kill your culture out of fear.
Keir Starmer has said under-16s will be banned from social media as soon as Spring 2027.
Children at a school near Preston gave their reaction to the announcement on #BBCBreakfastbbc.co.uk/news/live/c77yx1jp…
So we just let Internet curfews for 17-year-olds happen, like we're North Korea or China, and no one bats an eyelid because "social media bad"? This is sinister, controlling, dangerous stuff.
🚨UK social media ban for under-18s is tightening access to platforms and content.
Teachers warn this blocks GCSE students from YouTube tutorials and key online revision resources.
Govt fix: AI tutors available 24/7, no restrictions, for personalised GCSE support.
Critics call it perfect for state indoctrination via curated content.
Available to schools by 2027.

You’re going to see a lot in your X timeline about how the social media ban is unworkable and illiberal - and it will be one the most obvious examples of how social media skews debate.
But it will be one of the most popular things the government is doing

So let me get this straight:
Leftists want 16 year olds to vote.
They want 12 year olds to be able to consent to sex changes.
But they don’t want those same teenagers to read conservative opinions on social media, only Blue Sky?
Their agenda is pretty obvious.

Same model as Australia: ban user-to-user social platforms that use algorithms
So includes platforms like Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and X but not messaging services like WhatsApp and Signal

One MP says of the potential ban on social media for under 18s past 8.30pm:
"Are we giving votes to 16 year olds but banning them from watching the election results on YouTube?"
NEW - Keir Starmer will ban under-16s from major social media apps such as TikTok, Instagram and X in sweeping restrictions described as “Australia plus."

Insane. YouTube is crammed with vital educational resources.
That are free. This implementation disproportionately impacts disadvantaged kids.
Heaven forbid parents take responsibility for their kids social media use. Grim.

Regulating AI for young people needs huge care. If government overcorrects, we risk holding back British kids entering a global workforce that will demand fluency in these tools.

82% of people in England want our water in public ownership
All the experts are clear that privatisation of water has failed
So why is the government holding on to it?

For landing unppposed on a completely unarmed civillian ship, with a civillian crew. The only thing they had to stop for, was to re-film some parts.

BREAKING: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has thanked the UK for intercepting a Russian shadow fleet oil tanker that was sailing through the English Channel.

The Dover Strait is exactly that in international law. A strait.
The British Navy has just - absolutely illegally - pirated a Russian oil tanker engaged in free passage through the strait.
Total hypocrisy. And "shadow fleet" has no legal meaning, it is purely propaganda.
There are serious and legitimate questions about the authenticity of the footage released by the MOD of the interdiction of the Russian Shadow Fleet vessel this morning.
How is the cameraman ahead of the Marines clearing the stairwell to be able to film them coming towards him.
How has the cameraman gone past the open doors of rooms that haven’t yet been cleared?
How much of this has been staged for the cameras?
I don’t doubt that a Russian tanker was seized and that the operation carried significant risk. I do question the PR and the desperate need for a win by the Government at the Royal Marines’ expense.
