ALT Quote from Prisca Santhanam A about receiving constructive feedback and support as an early-career researcher at the AMP annual meeting: “Presenting my poster on such
a prestigious platform was a memorable highlight.
I received constructive feedback from international peers and esteemed judges.
The supportive environment
for early-career researchers was palpable.”
Testicular neuroendocrine tumor (formerly testicular carcinoid tumor) #GUpath
➡️Rare, usually well differentiated
➡️Median age at diagnosis: 39 years (range, 10-83)
➡️Normal serum tumor markers (AFP, β-hCG, and LDH)
➡️Most (~77%) are primary and pure, as in the current case
➡️~17% are associated with teratoma; a small minority represent secondary involvement
➡️5-year disease-specific survival: ~84%
➡️Adverse prognostic factors: large tumor size, lower degree of differentiation, and the presence of carcinoid syndrome

'Feelin' Groovy' - florid urothelial metaplasia in a prostate needle biopsy, mimicking basal cell hyperplasia and HGPIN at low magnification; at high magnification cytoplasmic vacuoles (upper R) & nuclear grooves (lower R) in the metaplastic cells aid in identification #gupath
Beautiful angiomyolipoma/PECcoma of kidney displaying all 3 components, dystrophic vasculature (lower R), and perivascular epithelioid (PEC) cells radiating from the blood vessel (upper center) #gupath
Striking abrupt transition in urothelium from normal/reactive changes (R) to flat urothelial carcinoma in situ (L), the latter marked by profound disorder of architecture and cytology #gupath
Spermatocytic tumor with rhabdomyosarcomatous differentiation #GUpath
▶️Spermatocytic tumor component: small cells with dense nuclei and scant cytoplasm; intermediate-sized and giant cells with finely granular to filamentous (“spireme”) chromatin; CD117 , SALL4 , OCT3/4-
▶️Rhabdomyosarcoma component: large, pleomorphic, and frequently multinucleated polygonal and rhabdoid cells with eosinophilic cytoplasm; desmin ,MyoD1
▶️Spermatocytic tumors are typically indolent
▶️Sarcomatous transformation (~6%)➡️ dramatic shift to highly aggressive behavior
