A quarter of world's freshwater life at risk of extinction, reveals an @IUCN study.
The primary reason - loss of freshwater ecosystems across the world. Several factors: pollution, dams, climate change.
One overlooked factor, @LabRajeev days, is conservation efforts designed for iconic terrestrial species such as lion and tiger that pay no heed to the little guys.
Broader conservation strategies that incorporate freshwater species data is key.
