#JobAlert Our Department is seeking a scientific expert APTT in engineering bimolecular systems with a translation focus on paediatric health > u.ethz.ch/V3zGa@ETH_en Applications are due 31 August 2024. Thanks for sharing!
How do cells with the same genetic material differentiate into diverse cell types during early development? In a study @NatureNeuro led by @TreutleinLab and colleagues @IHB_Research scientists explore the role of histones in gene expression >u.ethz.ch/KliLL@epflSV
Very exciting to see our single-cell epigenomic atlas of human neural organoids published in @NatureNeuro !!! Fantastic work, Fides Zenk @EpiGN_lab, Jonas Fleck @josch_f and the whole team !!! @ETH_BSSE@IHB_Research
🚀Super happy that our latest research has finally been published in @NatureNeuro! We delve into the world of human neural development. Our findings shed light on the dynamic epigenetic changes that guide cell fate from pluripotency to fully differentiated neural cells.🧠🔬🧵
After trying for a year we finally managed to get @krkoehler as our 2nd keynote speaker for @Bacell3D 2024. Inner ear and skin organoids! Beautiful and inspiring conclusion to the meeting with a historical perspective, applications of the systems, limitations and vision outlook!
Last vision talk is from @TreutleinLab presenting on human oranomics: what’s next? And where the merger of single-cell, spatial genomics and #organoid technologies merge! @ETH_BSSE@BaCell3D
New paper, surprising result:
We finetune an LLM on just (x,y) pairs from an unknown function f. Remarkably, the LLM can:
a) Define f in code
b) Invert f
c) Compose f
—without in-context examples or chain-of-thought.
So reasoning occurs non-transparently in weights/activations!
Meet Gisbert Schneider who becomes faculty member at D-BSSE | As of 1 June, @ETH_en professor and Biochemist/Bioinformatician Gisbert Schneider, is affiliated with D-BSSE. Gisbert is heading the Computer-Assisted Drug Design group > u.ethz.ch/WFGQK
Very happy to share that CellRank 2 is out in Nature Methods today; this was a fantastic joint effort co-lead between @PhilippWeiler7 and myself, in collaboration with @dana_peer and with strong coding support by Michal Klein (github.com/michalk8).
Yesterday's opening of ETH Zurich's new teaching and research building was a unifying event and showed that ETH Zurich plays an important role on the Schällemätteli Life Science Campus in Basel. @ETH_BSSE, @m_hengartner, @TorstenSchwede, @panke_sven, @atici_ch, @WolfrumLab
A very warm welcome at @ETH_BSSE Prisca @priscaliberali !!!! So excited to have you as a colleague!!! 🤩 Also fantastic to have this bridge to @FMIscience !!
An amazing period for the lab! I would like to thank the @FMIscience and @ETH_BSSE for all the support. I am looking forward to join new colleagues and increase the collaborative environment in Basel that is an incredible scientific hub @IHB_Research@biozentrum@NovartisScience
We're excited to announce that starting June 2024, @priscaliberali will hold dual positions as a Senior Group Leader at the FMI and Professor of Multicellular Systems at @ETH_BSSE in Basel. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, Prisca! fmi.ch/news-events/articles/…
Huge congratulations @AshleyMaynard10!!! 👏🍾This is extremely well deserved, so happy for you!!! 🤩It has been a great pleasure and fun to work with you on your excellent PhD projects!!!
Thank you @ETH_en & @ETH_BSSE for this incredible honor! I am deeply grateful to @TreutleinLab for their support and collaboration🙏. Proud to receive the #ETHmedal and excited to continue exploring the molecular landscape of neurogenesis and regeneration🧐!

Exciting work on a highly multiplexed single-cell transcriptomic morphogen screen to understand the role of morphogens- their concentration, timing and combinations -on human brain organoid patterning! Congrats @fatima_snc and the whole team!!!
Thrilled to share my PhD work in the @TreutleinLab & @GrayCampLab!
