Nonsense!
From the start of 2025 the remaining carbon budget for a 50% chance of not exceeding 1.5°C is ~170GtCO2 (billion tonnes).
Between COP28 & COP29 over 40GtCO2 was emitted.
Staying within 170GtCO2 means global cuts in CO2 of ~19% year on year starting now.
Do the math/s!
Termination shock from cleaning up sulfur in shipping fuel. Dirty stuff.
And argument for solar radiation management .. the scarier type of climate engineering. It seems we've wittingly-unwittingly been doing it already in an extra dirty way.
Once upon a time, it was heresy to point to a relation of profits with inflation & to suggest price policy could be part of fighting inflation. Both are now views of high priests.
In @ProSyn I reflect what follows for a new economic policy playbook.

Peening, can you give me tips on how to do it? The peening hammer and anvil are both a pound. The anvil is to be set into a stump, so you can sit by it, with the scythe you need to sharpen.
Still interested to hear alternative phrasing for termination shock of rapidly ending unintentional sulfur emissions.
IPCC doesn't really cover this, but they do on cessation of intentional Marine Cloud Brightening (MCB):
It's going to take ~20 years for Boston Metal's zero emissions steelmaking tech to progress from exciting lab result to industrially-meaningful volumes of steel. That's not unusual in my experience. In my latest video we find out why it takes so long!

The science is undeniable, but it can be daunting! People are more concerned about the climate than ever. Thankfully, scientists & creatives are working together to give a bit more clarity. Full version of Kiri’s Climate Science Translated video here:

Highly emotional and effective presentation of the extreme climate emergency we are in.
Genius! The IPCC presents in straight and common language, emphasising the urgency, stating which action needs to be taken, what needs to end now..
.. sadly, not.

The last SDR issuance probably saved hundreds of thousands of lives yet the US Treasury Department announced that a new allocation of SDRs is “not appropriate at this time.” despite the world economy is vastly worse now cepr.net/the-international-m…
4 months in a British prison for making a speech - I am finally out. I am applying for the charge to be dismissed. Last week my 2nd jury trial found me not guilty. That's me 2, carbon state 0. I hope they don't want to make 3-0. Would be embarrassing.
@UphamMansell hi there, I just heard you say that slaves were brought to the Cape till 1807. In 1814, my grandfather's great-grandfather, Thomas Heatlie, brought two of his 'domestic slaves' from Mauritius back to the Cape. This was a loophole.
One of these two boys remained with the family after becoming 'free', and my grandfather who was born in 1900 knew him. His name Moya, from Mosambique.
Plastic is either dumped somewhere, or ends up being burnt. All to drive a high level of consumption of stuff with a short life that needs to be thrown away quickly. So we can have a large quantity of low quality cheap stuff, and lowly jobs to produce it all.
Insustainable.
