To Our United Disabilities Community, As we step forward together in an ever-changing world, we see too often the shadows of intolerance, directed at those who are different, disabled, or simply against women. But let me be clear: this negativity directly contradicts everything we believe in at United Disabilities. Across every religious text and moral code, there is a call for compassion, understanding, and love. We are reminded of the simple, unifying values, the call for respect and kindness towards all people. And, in these times, we return to these truths, strengthened by the knowledge that our purpose transcends any narrow-minded view. Our platform was built on the belief that everyone deserves dignity, opportunity, and support regardless of ability. We believe in the strength of unity, where differences are celebrated as sources of strength and resilience. We are not here to retaliate or dwell in anger. Instead, we are here to build a future centered on hope, empowerment, and mutual respect. Together, we are powerful. United, we are a force of resilience. We do not merely adapt to the challenges thrown our way; we rise above them, stronger than before. We will shine, and we will lead. By embracing our unique abilities and differences, we reveal the limitless potential within each of us. From now on, let us unite in our shared mission. We will refuse to be divided by the small or distracted by the negative. Instead, we will showcase our strength, our kindness, and our unwavering commitment to one another. United Disabilities is more than a platform—it is a family that stands together, uplifts every individual, and relentlessly believes in the possibility of a world where everyone is empowered. Let us lead the way with courage, resilience, and love for one another, showing the world what it truly means to be united in ability. It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of Ellen Cohen, a lifelong advocate for the rights and dignity of people with disabilities. Ellen passed away in Geneva, Switzerland, where she was part of the Canadian delegation of disability rights and civil society organizations participating in the United Nations review of Canada’s implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Her passing is a deep loss to the disability community in Canada and beyond. Read our full statement here: bit.ly/4ituNRQ

Here is your Tuesday Reminder that Sen. Brady Brammer's SB257 circumvents our State Constitution as Amended in 2020, by removing Income Tax Fund availability in funding Disability Medicaid. This section of SB257 would also create an artificial funding shortfall by the legislature limiting funding sources, triggering cost cutting measures unnecessarily. As the 2034 Host State of the International Paralympics, Utah must not turn its back on Disabled Utahns. Utahns must oppose this Bill. @utahbug @politicsusa46 @kenklippenstein @KFF @AnotherMasker @PaulaAdvocates @acluutah @hollyonthehill @ModernMedicaid @ballerinaX @UtahGovWatch @disabilityscoop @LDS_Dems @utahhousedems @utahhousereps @SharonGF_NBCT @DeborahGatrell1 @MaryUtah @UDisabilities @TheArcUS @purrtah @KingForUtah @LDSDemocracy @broadwaybabyto @SaltLakeTom

Yes. They fired people working on the Veterans Crisis hotline. Stop believing they aren’t coming for everyone and have any idea what the fuck they are doing. They are coming for veterans just like everyone.

To be abundantly clear: we did not change the rigorous standard for becoming a certified air traffic controller. Those claiming otherwise are mistaken or lying. We did increase funding & training, and grew the ATC workforce after years of declining numbers, including under Trump.

yes...he didn't create us he has no right to destroy us
THIS is the fire I want to see from every Dem: “Elon Musk, you may have illegally seized power over financial systems of the Treasury but you don't control money of American people. Congress does that. We don't have a 4th branch of gov called 'Elon Musk.’”
