This week Russia launched 656 drones and 73 missiles into Ukraine, killing 13 people. And as @mobbs_mentality lays out, Russia doesn't exactly share American values. More from our latest VFF ⬇️

On June 12, 1987, President Ronald Reagan delivered the most forceful line of the Cold War in a speech in front of the Berlin Wall: “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” Embedded in this challenge was a clear commitment that U.S. policy must ultimately work to ensure that liberty prevails over oppressive regimes, achieved through sustained pressure and championing U.S. enlightened principles. In this video, @michaelallenJMA, Managing Director and Partner at Beacon Global Strategies, and @RogerZakheim, Washington Director of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, discuss Reagan’s landmark speech and how it should guide U.S. strategy today.

U.S. policy on Taiwan: We don't take a position on Taiwan's status—that's up to Taiwan to decide. But we have a vital interest in ensuring Taiwan can choose its future, @eyckfreymann emphasizes on this episode of Foreign Podicy with @MarkCMontgomery: youtu.be/Go8qM66N7Jk?si=HTXo…

President Trump should make clear that negotiations will not proceed, and Xi’s visit to Washington will be postponed, without the release of several political prisoners, including Jimmy Lai, Pastor Jin, Gulshan Abbas, and others. My latest with @OliviaEnos in @dcexaminer

We aren't calling it Project Freedom anymore, but the US is successfully guiding ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Some reports say as many as 17 ships per day, far fewer than the 100/day before the war but 3X as many as just a few weeks ago. And at the same time we are degrading Iran's military capabilities around the Strait. But we cannot treat attacks aimed at US forces seriously only if Americans are killed.

Thanks to @micah_mccartney of @Newsweek for including my thoughts about Nvidia’s partnership with Unitree: “The Pentagon's 1260H list is generally a good indicator of follow-on actions from the federal government. For instance, I'd expect to see Unitree on the FCC's covered list at some point soon,” Michael Sobolik, a senior fellow at the @HudsonInstitute, told Newsweek… “More fundamentally, it raises the obvious question of why Nvidia is offering computing technology to a company affiliated with the People's Liberation Army,” Sobolik said.

A quick minute on why Taiwan is a Model Ally - Taiwan makes 75% of the worlds logic chips - and their export of $175B in logic chips to the U.S drives trillions of dollars in U.S. GDP every year

To those noting that US companies help the US military, be careful of false equivalence: sure, some US civilian tech companies may support DoW, but all PRC companies are OBLIGATED to serve the PLA and CCP intelligence, and while almost all PRC cos have virtually unfettered access to the non-defense market here, US firms are systematically blocked there. To those noting that MIIT and SASAC ties are insufficient, consider this ruling on the definition of a military-civil fusion company from the DJI case last fall 👇
NEW: The Pentagon accused some of China’s biggest companies including Alibaba, Baidu and BYD of supporting the Chinese military, doubling down on an earlier decision to label crown jewels of the country’s corporate world as threats to US national security: bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
