ALT CCOS is pleased to announce a new series of hub spotlights showcasing the innovative clinical and translational science coming out of the CTSA Program. In this feature, we examine recent discoveries from the Clinical & Translational Science Center at Weill Cornell Medicine. Weill Cornell Medicine Clinical & Translational Science Center has identified 3 pathways to improved diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Researchers identified liver biopsy anomalies that can detect pancreatic cancer cells that are preparing to rapidly spread to other parts of the body. Researchers found a way to reprogram the body's immune system and boost the effectiveness in using T cells to treat cancer. Researchers identified enzymes that protect the body from bladder cancer by mutating the DNA of invading retroviruses. Multi-institutional collaboration played a key role in each of these discoveries.
