SEND parents have described this @MissAngelaChick badge as a game-changer, so we wanted to share it here. Attach it to your child's rucksack so they can communicate their feelings at school simply by adjusting the scale! It's also a great way to assess if they need more support.

Absolutely! 100% this!!! We are professional in our knowledge that comes together to completely transform lives when we work collaboratively, so why differentiate us in any way... One team, well said!

It’s 2022 we need to move away from professionals meetings. Parents and professionals are one team when supporting a cyp why would the team have another meeting without key people there. It’s old fashioned and silo working. Parents are the biggest stakeholders!!!

Really well put together description of why we refer to Autism as a spectrum #LDA #autism #livedexperience
31 Jan 2022
You can be articulate and academic and still have high support needs for everyday living. This is another autism myth, those who can advocate don’t also have high support needs. This is why autism is described as a spectrum and individuals have spiky profiles.

How wonderful! Not only has the minister been in our region, but she met with one of our parent aren't forums who are delivering a SEND HAF project this summer in Wolverhampton. Well done @Voice4P & thank you @vickyford for raising awareness that #HAF should also include #SEND

Do you work in a local authority SEND team? We're running a training day on 26 August for staff in local authorities, covering the framework of SEND law and the duties of local authorities, schools and colleges towards children and young people with SEND: buff.ly/3rzjYUU
Would be great to see some board members from a SEND background added in this round too!
We recognise concerns from the sector about limited social work experience on our board. We are pleased that this latest public appointments process encourages leaders from within the profession to apply. (1/2)

Really useful thread to be aware of.
Key themes in our findings include #Covid19 amplifying existing problems in the #SEND system, young people left without support, funding issues made worse and the later release DfE guidance making SEND feel like an afterthought #ForgottenLeftbehindOverlooked

People with a learning disability who have the most support needs should have this recorded on their GP learning disability register. If you’re not sure if someone’s GP surgery knows they have a learning disability you can check with the GP surgery. - youtu.be/7gANZupyBHM

Absolutely brilliant to see an ongoing commitment and recognition of pcf engagement and the hard work they do! And we are seeing an increase in health work too... @DHSCgovuk @NHSEngland
