🚨 AI : the story of Dario Amodei and Anthropic 🚀 Anthropic is the company with the most advanced model today. I strongly recommend listening to it. It debunks some of the misconceptions people have due to 3 seconds video clips on social media. Listen to the whole thing 👇🏼 x.com/0xCarnagee/status/2064…

Private education needs to compete. Expect many American universities due to the decisions of Donald Trump to go under. Quebec has a public system and it will hold, even though new immigration laws are also putting a big pressure on its international students arrival. But they will have to learn to train the proper skills in this AI age. The biggest winner from this American exit from the world should be Asian universities. At some point in the near to mid future, the United States will swing the other way and feel the Bern (whoever his successor is in this left-wing movement). By that time, a lot of the skillset necessary for the population, and the learning environment, will be very different.
#Education This has been in the works. But big news nevertheless. @SyracuseU is the first major university to admit to this serious liquidity crunch Well deserved after Pres Kent Syverud screwed up massively by not protecting Jews in the wake of Oct 7, only to admit years later that the pro-Palestine rioters were outsiders and financed by external sources. I wonder if @UMich is breathing a sigh of relief for having narrowly avoided a terrible choice?

Tom nails it: the way out for Trump is to claim victory - even though it’s a complete disaster - and at least pretend that it’s a full victory for the American people and then he can get out.

I’ve had a number of conversations with folks inside and outside government about the current situation with Anthropic, and here is what I believe to be true: — As we know, Anthropic publicly released its Mythos class models earlier this week under the commercial name Fable. — Fable is Mythos with guardrails. But if those guardrails fail, then you’ve exposed Mythos and its advanced cyber capabilities to people who shouldn’t have them. (Keep in mind that Anthropic itself widely promoted the idea that Mythos was a cyberweapon and needed to be regulated as such. They asked for government regulation of Mythos and championed the guardrails on Fable. If there is a vulnerability — big or small — it is Anthropic’s responsibility to patch.) — A highly credible trusted partner of both Anthropic and the USG who was testing Fable came forward with a jailbreak of those guardrails. The Admin asked Dario to fix the jailbreak or de-deploy the model. Dario refused. — In their blog post, Anthropic defended its decision by saying the jailbreak isn’t serious. That is not what the trusted partner and the USG believe; nor is that kind of minimizing language consistent with Anthropic’s brand as the AI safety company. It’s difficult to fathom how they could claim a jailbreak allowing operability of a cyber weapon could be defined as not “serious.” — In the past, Anthropic has always said that safety must be top priority and taken super seriously. In this case, Anthropic prioritized the continued offering of the consumer model over safety. — In reaction, the Admin issued the export control. The Admin did this reluctantly. It’s been very surprised that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to cooperate with a reasonable safety request (ie fixing the jailbreak issue). Anthropic’s reaction is very much at odds with their branding and ethos as a safe AI research community. — The Admin’s hope now is that Anthropic remediates the safety issue, the export control is lifted, and Fable goes back into general release. The Admin wants all of this to happen as soon as possible. It is frankly bewildered that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to comply with safety requests that it previously said were its highest priority. — Those trying to misdirect and tie this action to the prior DoW/Anthropic issues are wrong. The Admin values Anthropic’s technical capabilities and feels that this issue, while serious, should be easily resolved. The ball is in Anthropic’s court.

Nuclear dust unlikely to be in the deal. Just a face saving fake commitment to not have nukes later (but all major countries around will race to a nuke regardless).

Congratulations @ElonMusk. Thanks to SpaceX's IPO, he's the first Trillionaire. He didn't TAKE money from anyone. He CREATED wealth. He launched satellites that connect even the poorest, most remote parts of the world. Our world needs more MAKERS like Musk; fewer TAKERS like:

🇨🇦🇫🇷 Macron to Canada PM Carney: "Today more than ever, we have a similar reading on the world. We see that the international order has been fractured." Macron’s globalist worldview, emphasizing open societies and international law over national cohesion, has been repeatedly exposed as a failure in France itself. France has spent DECADES trying to accommodate large numbers of immigrants under the cute banner of "multiculturalism" and “vivre-ensemble.” The results speak for themselves: Large parts of the suburbs have become effectively no-go zones with parallel societies and high crime. France has also suffered repeated terrorist attacks, something far less common in countries that maintain stronger cultural assimilation policies. Still, he's out here preaching about "international order" to the Canada's PM... baffling. Source: CTV / Writers: Claudio, Oliver

🇨🇦🇪🇺 Canada’s PM Mark Carney said: “The new world order will be built from Europe.” He called Canada “the most European of non-European countries” and said they’re deepening ties with the EU. That's actually very accurate Writers: Lucas, Oliver

‼️🚨 BREAKING: Amazon researchers snitched to the US government about jailbreaking Fable 5 and Mythos 5, forcing Anthropic to immediately shut down worldwide access. A security export control directive from Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick enforced the action. Anthropic is fighting the directive and calls it a misunderstanding. This isn't the first clash. The Trump administration had already tried to get Anthropic to pause the release of its latest models before this directive landed.

Brief reminder: The MEDIAN American holds zero corporate equity exposure. They have $0 worth of stocks. Of those that do hold stocks, the median holdings are less than 1 year's worth of household income ($52k) Stop allowing people to manipulate you with MEAN data
Jun 13
**infraa_** Fair point on medians. Latest data: - Fed SCF 2022: 58% of households hold stocks (direct indirect via 401ks/mutual funds). **Conditional median**: $52k. **Mean**: ~$490k. - Gallup 2025: 62% of US adults own stock. ~38-42% have $0, so **overall median across all adults/households is well below the $52k conditional figure** (highly skewed; bottom-half income owners' conditional median ~$13k). Broad participation via markets/retirement accounts, but holdings concentrate heavily at the top — exactly why means >> medians.
