“I would advise any beginning writer to write the first draft as if no one else will ever read them – without a thought about publication – and only in the last draft to consider how the work will look from the outside.”
—Anne Tyler
Check out the 2024 Emerging Investigators Issue for @J_ASMS. The future of mass spectrometry is definitely in good hands!!

Our paper describing a new method (FLiP-MS) for the global profiling of protein complex dynamics is out @NatureBiotech !
Read here👉: doi.org/10.1038/s41587-024-0…
🔬 Highlights:
- Uses an experimental library of peptide markers integrated with a structural proteomics workflow.
- Probes the assembly state of hundreds of protein complexes simultaneously across conditions directly from whole cell extracts, informing on binding interface occupancy.
- Supports the structural modelling of protein complexes and the design of compounds targeting them
Congratulations to shared first authors @CathyMarulli and Christian Dörig and thanks to our collaborators @LabBarral and @TorstenSchwede lab

Rethink the analysis of DDA data! Blurring the boundary between DDA, WWA, and DIA, #MSFragger-DDA Enhances Peptide Identification Sensitivity with Full Isolation Window Search. Fully integrated in #FragPipe, simply annotate your DDA files as DDA and RUN. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
The synuclein seeding assays are not enough to diagnose Parkinson and to differentiate it from PSP and MSA. Dr Edwin Jabbari @ucl makes a convincing argument that kinetics matter and combination assays will be the path forward. A combo assay that includes a 4R Tau assay has great potential. 1/3 of LRRK2 negative cases w/ current synuclein assay and also over 7% completely negative. Congrats on junior MDS award. #mdscongress#parkinsom
Working with my lab peeps and collaborator this week has, once again, reminded me why I love what I do and that I truly have the best "job" in the world.
I try not to brag about our papers when they come out, but for this one I make an exception. It is a clinical trial showing that our new drug combination is effective in pain patients. It will be published in Frontiers in Pain Research.

Very excited to see work from Hanna Budayeva included in this special issue of @JProteomeRes. Hanna has done a fantastic job leading our chemoproteomics efforts over the last few years - this story is just one of the exciting things her group is working on! Check out this issue!
The latest issue of Journal of Proteome Research is live! On the cover: "Celebrating Women in Proteomics and Metabolomics"
