Consequences of climate change in #Afghanistan:
Unusually strong flash floods
Uncommon hailstorms
Prolonged droughts
Extreme weather events
Armed conflict, institutional fragility, poverty and the climate crisis all interact which makes the country one of the most vulnerable.
At least 45 people have been killed and over 350 injured in eastern provinces of Afghanistan due to heavy rains, flash floods, and severe storms, according to Taliban authorities.

It’s a profound honour to have been the first Hazara parliamentary candidate in this wonderful country of ours. Sad that it wasn’t to be for me, but I am overwhelmed with pride to have been a part of the @UKLabour team.

This is painful. We are witnessing a GENDER APARTHEID in #Afghanistan.
1000 days since girls’ schools have been closed. Girls’ schools must be reopened, women and all ethnic groups represented in an inclusive government, and ties with terrorist groups cut.
