What's hilarious, is that this sentiment is a modern development for TF2. Statements like this were practically never said before 2016. Back then, YouTube videos translated almost one for one to the gameplay experience.
Then, something happened (gee, I can only wonder what), and the game became miserable to play. But, thanks to the power of editing, it's still fun to watch. You can cut out all of the bullshit that ruins the modern experience, and leave behind the quality nuggets of gameplay.

maybe it's because tf2 isn't getting regular updates anymore but Man all the tf2 videos i watched as a kid really made me overestimate how fun playing tf2 actually is
