If Steam is a monopoly because they dominate the market, I will keep calling Windows a monopoly for as long as game publishers keep unfairly blocking users of other operating systems from playing their games.
Valve has been hit by yet another class action lawsuit in the Netherlands, this time from Consumer Competition Claims (CCC). The CCC claims that Valve holds a dominant position in the market, estimated at around 85%, and is breaching competition law through so-called "Most Favoured Nation" clauses. They argue that Valve’s 30 percent cut on all game sales is too high and reflects monopolistic behaviour. Dutch consumers have suffered total damages of more than €220 million. Source: GameClaim

Minecraft pvpers when they have to actually hold the weapon whose attribute they’re trying to fight with
If anyones curious about how old attribute swapping is, here's me doing in on 1.2.1, its a 14 year old bug thats likely existed since 1.0 but I cba to test it there. The example of this is me swapping to a sword with sharpness that gives the sharpness particles on hit.

Houston freeways are so wide they're creating their own microclimates
Anyone ever seen interstate-induced clouds before? Low level CU developed perfectly along major interstates around Houston this morning. Kind of shocking to see such perfectly lined up clouds. #txwx

You like Zed Industries? Their early work (Atom) was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Zed came out in ’21, I think they really came into their own, technically and artistically. The whole GPUI layer has a clear, crisp execution, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the product a big boost. They’ve been compared to VS Code forks, but I think Zed has a far more low-level, GPU-driven approach.

Remember, professional software companies despise you.
Autodesk’s fine has bankrupted our small studio. A few months ago, we made a serious mistake - we bought a Maya license from a fraudulent third-party seller. Autodesk hit us with a massive fine, far larger than the original error. Even after we explained our situation as a two-person indie team, they still enforced it in full. This has been incredibly tough and made us question everything. But after 7 years of hard work, we’re not ready to give up! To keep our studio going and fund the next game, we’re running our biggest discount ever: 87% off Wigmund. If you’ve wishlisted us, enjoyed our unique mouse-as-sword combat, or want to support a passionate two-person indie team, your help right now would mean the world to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. → Grab Wigmund at 87% off #Wigmund #IndieGame #IndieDev #SupportIndies #SteamSale

What's hilarious, is that this sentiment is a modern development for TF2. Statements like this were practically never said before 2016. Back then, YouTube videos translated almost one for one to the gameplay experience. Then, something happened (gee, I can only wonder what), and the game became miserable to play. But, thanks to the power of editing, it's still fun to watch. You can cut out all of the bullshit that ruins the modern experience, and leave behind the quality nuggets of gameplay. Presently, from the outside in, nothing looks wrong with TF2, but when you actually try to play the game? Well, we can't talk about that...
maybe it's because tf2 isn't getting regular updates anymore but Man all the tf2 videos i watched as a kid really made me overestimate how fun playing tf2 actually is

If you give Pangram a random jumble of words, it should be classified as human-written. Unless, of course, an AI generated that list I have no idea why this works btw
i had the same intuition as norvid's op and my sense is random text would bias towards human because pangram is calibrating for *specific* basins of ai post-training text where human is the default / low false positives. some evidence

I genuinely don’t think Ubisoft has the human capital left to make a good game anymore. It’s not just laziness, greed, and per-project ineptitude - it’s also that there is literally not one possible combination of staff there that can actually produce anything good anymore.

The Australian parliament was designed with a lawn rooftop that is accessible to the public, this was intentional symbolism that placed the people above the government of the day... Anyway they fenced it off in 2017 lol
Why did the Australians design their Parliament building like this? They could have taken their inspiration from their Canadian brethren
