This is the sort of thing you can do in an inefficient market. In an efficient market, this guy is squeezed out. Improvements in coordination make markets more efficient, but it turns out people do not like living in efficient markets, and efficient markets are bad for the soul.
Meet New Yorkโ€™s model landlord: Max Dick. Dick hasnโ€™t raised rent in 30 years, and he gives $50 to every baby that one of his tenants has. He says that he wants to make a โ€œbigger and better house for babies.โ€

People are going downhill. It was bad enough when we were moral panicking because of spider man and Elsa headswap videos. To be moral panicking over SCP wiki tier creepypasta images is just pathetic.

This video is one of the best empathy triggers I've seen. It's on par with the George Floyd video. johnrobb.substack.com/p/empaโ€ฆ Packetized media delivers empathy triggers straight to the information stream on your smartphone. This delivery mechanism slips past the resistance most people have to triggering an involuntary empathetic response that causes the viewer to feel what the victim feels. If the empathy trigger is framed by tribalism (as was George Floyds and this one), this empathetic response forges tribal kinship (fictive in the sense it doesn't require a blood relation) with the victim and turns the attackers into existential evil (they want to kill your relatives and you as well). If a large number of people tribalize in response to a trigger, it can spawn a network swarm...

In his final moments, Henry Nowak told police officers nine times โ€œI canโ€™t breatheโ€ and four times that he had been stabbed. In response police officer dragged him across the gravel, handcuffed and read him his rights. It was the last thing Henry heard before he died.

In SF they would hotbox the BART cars with meth. In NYC, a homeless guy will light up a perfectly normal cigarette and prop the door open with his foot to ventilate the car. Truly a different world. Don't bother that man. Maybe deal with the meth if possible or just add doors.
lol sure. cry all you want but i'm not the grown man looking for the police to put out a cigarette

Reading an Ayn Rand book is like trudging through the winter of the political takes. Feeling the cold seep in through your felt boots as you trod through the commentary. But finally, a tall man arrives, and spring is come! Among other things. And we all have other things.

If the Whites had won the civil war, Ayn Rand would have just written weapons-grade smut, probably kickstarting the romantasy genre and quite possibly independently discovering the omegaverse, very likely with significant implications on global TFR.
