Could not agree with you more re @imharrybenjamin calm knowledgeable a couple of relevant stats thrown in and controlled excitement at the result making it much more enjoyable than it would have been with @CroftyF1 at the ‘mike.

Scale of sentences on the 4 young people who took direct action against the arms supplier to Israel is truly shocking. To impose years of imprisonment for protesting to save lives in Gaza is unjust, especially sentencing on terrorist grounds they were never convicted of by a jury

hey @ZackPolanski whilst in general I would agree with the erosion of freedoms ... the sentiment does not extend to a brutal attack on a police officer. The person who did that got off lightly in my view.

Years in prison for protesting to save lives in Gaza, with 'terrorism' used despite no jury convicting them of it.
A truly dangerous attack on the right to protest.

They had already travelled to Portsmouth for a joint press conference between John Healey and Australia's Defence Minister Richard Marles.
After Healey's resignation, the press conference has been cancelled and Marles is doing no media.
Along way to come for a no-show.

Sorry to see John Healey leave government.
We were opposite numbers for a time and, despite being on different sides of politics, I always found him to be decent, honest, capable and respectful. He has rightly earned admiration across Parliament for his public service.
I wish him well for the future.

Wow a resignation on principle and not based on self interest. Kudos to @JohnHealey_MP for his integrity. You can agree or disagree on how much we should spend on defence Regardless this is a principled and highly unusual step in today’s day and age.
