My wife and I spend about a week (without kids) every year on our anniversary. Just got back from Cabo. Peter Drucker once said that you can't improve what you don't measure. We create a shared Apple note every year with our goals for the year and track them. Set a goal for date nights. Log them in the Apple note. Set a goal for 1 on 1 date nights with our girls. Log them in the Apple note. Set a goal for devotional time together. Log them in the Apple note. Set a goal for date nights with other couples. Log them in Apple note. There are some other goals not appropriate for X. 😆 Log them in Apple note. We have been doing this for a couple years and it has kept us from losing sight of what's important to us as a couple. I'm passionate about marriage...especially ones that include someone who is starting/running a business. I operate by metrics in business to ensure I don't lose track of what's important. I've found that measuring some things at home works well to make sure I'm leading my family well.

I shared this with my wife. Her response: “If you are getting such good results, and people are saving so much money, why do you get so much hate?” Me: “The people we are fighting for and are saving the money, love us. It’s the people in power that hate us.”
We made some pretty conservative estimates on what people are saving using CrowdHealth vs health insurance. Approximately $77M has been sucked out of the medical industrial complex and put into the pockets of our members since inception.

The unfortunate part is that people don't think it will be a "freakin nightmare" until it's a "freakin nightmare." Why not hop over to something way better before you live the "freakin nightmare?"
Dealing with insurance is a freakin nightmare. I’m trying to do the right thing and pay my bills, yet they make it so freakin hard to do. Also, are the errors intentional in hopes you just pay more and don’t question it? I’m about to lose my mind.

Proof of work
Healthcare should be deflationary. Over the last 12 months: Singles under 55 have paid on average $141.67/month (down 9% from the previous 12 months). Will be ~$140 in April. Singles 55 have paid on average $227.08 (down 9%). ~$220 in April. Families of 4 have paid on average $481.25 (down 5%). ~$480 in April. Opt out. Exit the system. Ditch health insurance. Join CrowdHealth. 🧡 *Does not include transaction costs (.8%-3%). Does not include promo rates. Rates are for CrowdHealth Original service.

When my daughter passed away my wife had a dream: She was looking through a two way mirror. Our daughter, completely healed, was on the reflective side. She was in the most beautiful field full of flowers. Bryan lives in a "world [that] is brutal...uncaring, wanting its own at your expense and indifferent to your losses." Bryan's motto is "Don't Die." I, on the other hand, can't wait.
First, fuck off. Ok, now we’re locked in, I sincerely wish you all the best. The world is brutal. Uncaring, wanting its own at your expense and indifferent to your losses. Leaving no safe haven for reprieve and rejuvenation. Yet the want to interdigitate and be fiercely loyal to each other persists beneath the wreckage. It’s how we are built and what we are built for. Society has strip-mined our togetherness by chopping up our bonds with endless insult. We do best with shared purpose and a common enemy. We are the stewards of intelligent life. Our moral duty is to tend its continuation. Not as martyrs, but as stalwarts. Our enemy is that which makes you smaller. Count me as your ally.

Plus, when your pregnant wife gets hit by a car, you come home to a thoughtful care package... Fund humans, not health insurance. @JoinCrowdHealth @andyjschoonover
Replying to @matthewstoller
With CrowdHealth you pay the first $500 of any health event. No huge deductibles and the cost is reasonable $200 for a single, $660 for a family of 4

.@andyjschoonover, CEO, @JoinCrowdHealth: If you have the buyer and the seller of healthcare both wanting the price to go up, Guess what?, the price is going up. ...With really no kind of counter forces to drive these these prices down, you don't have any participant in the market who's trying to drive prices down and therefore we just have runaway healthcare inflation.

I’ve built two 9 digit companies and I’ve only once worked more than 50 hours a week for a sustained period of time. Looking back at that one period, there is so much stuff that I did that didn’t matter. 50% of my time yielded 1% of the results. The best, most creative, game changing ideas come when you are not “working.”
Chamath: Work-life balance is the worst thing happened to young people. "The first and most important thing is you have to be on Broadway." "If you're into politics, you need to be in Washington D.C. If you want to be in finance, you need to get to New York or London. If you want to be in crypto, you probably need to be in Abu Dhabi. If you want to be in tech, you just need to be in Silicon Valley." "There is no shortcut for any of these decisions. You have to be where the fish are." "The number of young people I encounter who talk about all of these idiotic things like work-life balance. I don't even understand what that means." Remote work is convenient. Being where it happens is how you win. video: @chamath

"Send money back to Americans"....who are then forced to send it back to health insurance plans? Can someone help me understand what this accomplishes? Honestly trying to understand the strategy here.

Almost a $1M bill...funded by the Crowd.
If you have heard us on a podcast, you've heard this story. Small town Montana. One bu((et, six holes. Helicopter picked him up out of the stream. Coma. Sepsis. Huge bills. And a new baby boy. "I don't know what having insurance feels like but I doubt it feels like family." youtu.be/_rA8wTs-sS4

Show people the price of the service provided. Revolutionary. 😂
Our cash pay database is undergoing a pretty big renovation. We have 2 million "cash pay" prices for healthcare services. That number is growing rapidly and those prices are significantly lower than what health plans are paying. Right now you have to reach out to your Care Advocate to get them but we are transitioning this database to a searchable function in our app. By mid year you will be able to get cash pay prices for most services in almost all the primary, secondary, and tertiary cities in the US.

We have spoken to both sides of the aisle: We explained our system to @RonWyden (D) at the Bitcoin Commons in Austin: "Incredible. More people should be doing this." There were about 20 witnesses. Our CEO had a phone call with @chiproytx (R): "I love this model" We even used AI to put our t-shirt on @RepThomasMassie. Ok, maybe that one doesn't count. Yet, everything that is being proposed in Washington still has a health insurance backbone riddled with perverse incentives that have gotten us into this mess. No outside of the box thinking. HSAs for the little stuff is incrementally better but ER visits, major surgeries, chronic conditions, etc...all the big stuff, all the things that move the healthcare cost needle, 80% of our healthcare costs, are higher than the deductibles. Which means PEOPLE DON'T CARE about prices and therefore are subject to the perversities of health insurance and the medical industrial complex. We have proven that a community of people can fund each others healthcare expenses more efficiently than big oligopolies. We have proven that you can get way way better prices if you eliminate the middleman and pay your doctor directly. The bigger the health event, the bigger the delta. Yo, people in DC. Lets talk. @SenFettermanPA you are the type of guy who will wear an Uninsured T-shirt in Senate chamber. We'll send you, or any of your colleagues, one (if thats allowed...otherwise you can buy one here: crowdhealth-merch.com/en-usd…). Let's get creative and save our country!

True story. We’re not perfect, but we’ve built an incredible culture around genuinely loving our Crowdies.
Our CEO asked our team on our company wide meeting: "If Google, or anybody else that has way more money than us, started competing with CrowdHealth, why would customers still choose us?" One of our teammates answered: "We legit love our customers."
