With uses for AI tools being explored across the NHS, analysts are working hard to build the evidence base to inform decision‑making.
Read this week’s Q&A with #RSET researchers to learn about their evaluation of the use of AI tools in chest diagnostics.

Delighted to share our findings from this important rapid evaluation as part of the @NIHRresearch Rapid Service Evaluation Team programme - providing lessons on implementation and impact of AI tools to support chest diagnostics in NHS hospital services.
NEW Q&A: What do we know about how AI is being used to support clinical decision-making in the NHS?
We sat down with @angusramsay, Chris Sherlaw-Johnson and Kevin Herbert to learn about a new evaluation of how AI is being applied to chest diagnostics.

Sunrise in Aberdeen: following (another) hearty breakfast, I am looking forward to discussing the findings from PHOTONIC with #UKSF delegates, this afternoon!
Enjoying the #UKSF opening plenary, led by @Deborah71247971 and David Werring (@UCLStrokeRes). Insights on current innovation, and a little - a little - doric thrown in! 😄
Great to be at #UKSF 2025, in Aberdeen! Lovely to meet colleagues in person, and to be hearing about cutting edge #stroke research. Currently enjoying talks on the latest news on mechanical thrombectomy, led off by Prof Steve Powis
Really pleased to share the article we published yesterday in @SectorFocus - in it, we set out key questions that public sector leaders may want to consider when thinking about implementing #AI tools in their services.

🆕 #RSET paper finds #AI diagnostic tools might not be a silver bullet for health care service pressures.
AI tools offer valuable support, but can be hard to implement. The paper identifies important lessons.

New paper: @NIHRresearch scoping review on centralisation of specialised health services, as part of NIHR RSET. We found evidence of improved care & outcomes, but little on how centralisation is described - so we propose a typology for future work.
