Today, @austal teams in Australia came together for an all-hands meeting that included a celebration of the completion of the Pacific Patrol Boat Replacement Project (SEA3036-1) - following the delivery of the 24th and final Guardian-class Patrol Boat (GCPB) to @DefenceAust on 17th April 2026. The vessel was gifted to the Republic of Maldives under the Australian Government's Defence Cooperation Program, at a handover ceremony held at HMAS Stirling, Western Australia on 19th April 2026. @Austal Limited has executed a US$100 million loan agreement with @ExportFinanceAU , the Australian Government ’s export credit agency, to partially fund the development of the Final Assembly 2 (FA2) project at the @Austal_USA shipyard in Mobile, Alabama. The EFA loan, with a tenor of 10 years, reflects not only a successful diversity of funding sources secured by Austal, but also the security of the long-term order book of naval ships to be built in this new facility - commencing with up to eleven Offshore Patrol Cutters for the @uscoastguard and up to seven Ocean Surveillance (T-AGOS) vessels for the @USNavy . We are relieved to confirm that no casualties or injuries were sustained at our @Austal Philippines shipyard overnight, following the 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck the north of Cebu. The safety of our employees is our highest priority, and with emergency response procedures in Balamban activated immediately following the earthquake, all personnel on site were quickly accounted for. Employees have been directed to stay home until further notice, while the shipyard facilities and operations are carefully assessed for safety.
