You couldn’t make The Office today. It would take way longer than that

George Lucas may have sold Lucasfilm to Disney back in 2012, but he still receives monthly payments from Disney, reveals Matthew Wood. Disney purchased Lucasfilm but not the offices the company was based in, including Skywalker Ranch. “Now, funnily enough, since the intellectual property of Star Wars is owned by Disney, I work for Disney now - but we work at Skywalker Ranch, and we pay George Lucas. He’s our landlord, because all the rents and the physical properties are his.” (Source: thepopverse.com/movies-disne…)

I make 1 mildly negative comment on Andor and all my tweets disappear. Never took Elon for an Andor fan tbh.

I can’t lie, the more time Andor spent on Coruscant, the more it felt like I was watching a real life city on Earth.
With Andor Tony Gilroy boldly asked "what if we made Coruscant look as bland as possible."

"All art is subjective" and "This is objectively good/bad" are both things people say when they want to pretend like they're making a point but they're not articulate enough to actually explain why they do or don't like something

This is a vague claim with zero justification. How exactly would Lucas’s vision not have fared better? If nothing else, the critics of the ST who’ve supported all 6 of the original films would have probably liked it.
Lucas Sequel Trilogy would've faired no better

I hope there isn’t any specific reason as to why he’s purple. It’d be pretty nifty if we just had purple people running around.
Sid Rosenberg encourages the Jewish community to be proud and not to "hide your yarmulkes."

Did Snyder specifically want this to be a remake of Escape From New York? Or was it an original idea that he had to pitch as being tied to an established property (that it happened to share similarities with) just so he could convince The Picture Company to fund it?

Look at this way: if you’re someone who considers the vast majority of its output in the last 10 years to be absolute dogshit, you want the people making it to finally realize it’s no longer profitable to continue as is. Bc maybe they’ll start actually taking it seriously again
I've been a lifelong Star Wars fan, and seeing people cheer for a Star Wars movie to fail just makes me sad. Not every Film/TV will be for everyone, but personally I'd rather be hopeful about the future of the franchise than celebrate or mock disappointment.

Hearing Tom Waits’ voice on his early albums…rather jarring, but certainly lovely.

Finally saw Obsession. Good stuff.

It feels like at every turn, Abrams and co. chose the least interesting direction to take the story after ROTJ. The Empire is back and threatening the galaxy with yet another planet-blower-upper, and once again the only hope to defeat them is a small band of rebel fighters.
Pretend The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker never happened. Did you and do you now like The Force Awakens?

The new characters are underdeveloped. The only thing interesting going on with the returning characters is their relationship with Kylo Ren, but that barely gets explored. And even the music and visual direction is a major step down from the previous 6 films.

Oh Disney Star Wars, what is there to even say at this point

Your character’s voice did not jump three octaves in shock. An octave is the difference between an alto sax and a bari sax. Three octaves is the entirety of Marvin Gaye’s vocal range. Your character’s voice jumped a perfect fourth at most, you rube

“Music nowadays is so bad” Or maybe you’re just not looking hard enough.
First lush life, then the one that got away, beauty and a beat and now on the floor by jlo. Music nowadays is so bad that everyone is streaming 2010s music instead
