hello friends, it is with great sadness that I must report twitter is now simply full-throated 4chan nazis, and so ends any reasonable, non-shit talking, use of this account. thank you

I can only react to this image as I am: a Jew. To make Jewish words and phrases interchangeable with ICE detention is to make Judaism the face of fascism. This has happened in Israel and will happen here if we allow it

🚨JOE ROGAN: "People are worried that Elon is going to steal everyone's money. He has $400B. Elon's not going to steal your money. That's not what he's doing. He's a super genius that has been f**ked with. When you've been f**ked with by these nitwits that hide behind 3-letter agencies, and you're dealing with one of the smartest people alive helping Donald Trump get into office and find out what corruption is really going on, you f**ked up. You f**ked up and picked the wrong psychopath on the spectrum. He's going to hunt you down and find out what's going on, and that's good for everybody. That's how you should be looking at this, like 'Wow, we have a brilliant mind examining these really corrupt and goofy systems and bringing in a bunch of psychopath wizards." 🔥🔥🔥

A warning what happens when a tech company prioritizes OKRs (eg "ship the new app in Q2 2024") and hitting artificial goals is what everyone optimizes for. And stops: - Listening to customers - Doing proper QA testing - Holding a new release until it is ready for prod

The SEC talking smack for a month only for Tennessee to get decimated by Ohio State, and then Alabama and South Carolina to get manballed by Michigan and Illinois is the most hilarious storyline in CFB this year.

My understanding is the capital gains tax might not be the only progressive revenue proposal for Seattle we'll be seeing in the next few weeks.

Microsoft and Satya Nadella’s obsession with the Growth Mindset is abusive and cult-like, defining people’s futures based on how they adhere to a flimsy doctrine interpreted entirely by management, with its own sinners and saints baked in. It's ugly. wheresyoured.at/the-cult-of-…

Newsletter: Microsoft is a cult driven by “The Growth Mindset,” a psuedo-science that informs recruitment, hiring, firing and promotion decisions, all while instructing employees and managers to generate performance reviews using hallucination-prone AI. wheresyoured.at/the-cult-of-…

that's cool, but here in Seattle we have an issue with selective enforcement where for some totally random reason rich looking people don't get checked but other people do, which again, totally random

this is exactly how transit works in Germany and Denmark. unarmed fare enforcement to keep the system safe and make sure everyone pays their fair share

We built @Stripe Workbench to debug, monitor, and grow your integrations with developer tools like a command-line shell and API object inspector to support your flow state. Shell includes nifty commands—and we hid one. (Fun stuff for replies that find it.) stripe.com/blog/workbench-a-…

homeownership is learning that the teflon plumbers tape you see them use on this old house is in fact very much non-optional even though the things screw together just fine

it's taken me some serious introspection but I now understand that I don't hate the ending of Lost, I hate the show-runners and more importantly myself for reading way too much from the arg tie-ins
to anyone who hasn't seen LOST and thinks they won't bother because they've heard the ending is bad, this is not true and the show will change your life

this "feature" is a pretty serious misstep and should probably get someone fired, but when they make it this hard to disable you just know someone's promotion is on the line end of July

this is the out of box experience for Windows 11's new Recall feature on Copilot PCs. It's enabled by default during setup and you can't disable it directly here. There is an option to tick "open Settings after setup completes so I can manage my Recall preferences" instead

A yellow wire was plugged into the relay connection indicated with the red arrow. I moved it to the green arrow. Fixing this connection made the card reader's bad behavior go away. How this wire got in the wrong place is a mystery. Did it happen recently or 50 years ago? 6/8
