82 game season, 3-4 games per week plus travel …and then you have to win 16 times to win the Stanley Cup, sometimes playing 7 games against the same team to get to the next round - with travel every 2nd day It’s really no contest that it’s the hardest championship to win
Every year they say the Stanley Cup is the hardest trophy to win in sports Based on what? Like do we have ANY metrics showing this? Because I have a hard time believing a trophy given every year is harder to win than Olympic Gold or the World Cup for instance

A massive congratulations to Taylor Hall, finally winning that elusive Stanley Cup! I worked with Hallsy my first few years in NJ and he was just a genuinely down to earth, kind person who always had time to talk and loved the game with a fierce passion. So very happy for him!

Cruel Summer is part of the self-titled album Bananarama (1984), the second album of the British trio. The song was written by Sara Dallin, Keren Woodward and Siobhan Fahey along with producers Jolley & Swain during an unbearable heatwave in London in 1983. The three were trapped working while their friends took a vacation. The video, shot in New York (Brooklyn) during another brutal heatwave, shows the three of them sweating and suffering for real on the streets of the city. This visual greatly helped the song to become a hit in the US after being included in the film Karate Kid (1984). Released as a single, it reached #8 in the UK and #9 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming one of the biggest hits of Bananarama career and an absolute classic of dance pop of the 80s.

The UCP has chosen to ignore the voices in Alberta concerned about healthcare, insurance costs, private medical, wasteful spending and more for 7 years Eva. But they chose to listen to a small minority playing the perpetual victim. Fuck off with your preaching
Demanding that citizens have a fully developed plan before they are allowed to voice concerns misses the point entirely. Citizens are not the ones being paid to govern, develop policy, or solve public problems. Political leaders, advisors (like Ken purports to be) bureaucrats, and public institutions are. You know all the people paid by the public, to supposedly work in the public interest?! If the people who shape policy actually cared about the future or the public interest, they would spend less time dismissing citizens and more time listening to the growing frustration of people who feel unheard, unrepresented, and increasingly disconnected from the institutions that claim to serve them. Instead, we get endless political theatre, partisan talking points, and childish finger-pointing. More noise. Less substance. What many citizens are asking for is not complicated: meaningful discussion, honest debate, accountability, and a genuine willingness to listen. Is that really so hard Ken, Jason, Tyler, Thomas and friends? Where are the serious and sophisticated conversations about the future of this country? Because from where I sit, too many of the people shaping policy seem more interested in defending the system than addressing the concerns of the people it is supposed to serve. That should concern all of us. In fact, this is just embarrassing to watch.

A lot of you do not understand that a not guilty verdict simply means that the burden of proof was not met. It does not mean someone was found innocent. Also anyone who has survived sexual violence or been in the justice system knows what an uphill battle it is. What EM went through is well documented and even if it didn’t meet the burden of proof for rape, it was wrong and egregious behaviour, enough for Hockey Canada to try to cover it up, enough for those men to film not one but two “consent” videos, if you think any of that behaviour is ok or defensible I do not know what to say to you .

Cry me a river David. Danielle Smith can't take a single bit of criticism. She blocked me years ago for posting a meme. She's softer than baby shit.
Wab enjoyed his 2 minutes of lecturing the Premier of the best performing economy in Canada with staged freelance legal advice. She has to deal with how to legally manage a third of Albertans wanting to leave the decade-long economic and political failure of the national NDP-Liberal decline - reflected by him and Eby. Wab has turned off all comments on X after running into a bit of pushback. That vitriol and frustration is something Premier Smith deals with every day. Hate to say it but the pretence of a lot of these CBC NDP darlings would last a hot minute in a boardroom in Calgary. If they can’t take a little social media heat after coming out swinging on TV about Alberta’s legal options, it’s going to be an interesting five months.

Mandatory military service lol Also - “we’re going to have to get those girls making more babies” Gross. 1. Women have babies, not girls. 2. Women aren’t here just to bear children. Mitch Sylvestre and his separatist cronies can eat a full bag of dicks.

Carter Hart is about to play in the Stanley Cup Final. He was acquitted of sexual assault charges this past summer, but there is a lot more to the story. With the brightest lights now shining on him, it is important to understand the nuance of the controversial case. “We Believe E.M” does not mean we believe every detail of her testimony. It does not mean we believe she did not make any mistakes that night. It simply means we believe she was sexually assaulted. And the evidence supports that belief. I will leave you with some facts. This is all available if you research (tw // sa): - There is ZERO evidence or testimony that EM ever asked Michael McLeod to invite additional men to that hotel room. McLeod never testified, and all we have is a video interview with police where he never made that claim, meanwhile LYING when he denied sending a text invite to ALL his teammates. On the otherhand, there is text evidence the following day of EM telling McLeod she did not expect more partners, and it was not disputed by McLeod. - There is ZERO evidence or testimony that EM ever asked (or was asked) for Cal Foote to do the splits over her. Even if you believe the men’s story that she was saying “have sex with me”, she never said “teabag me”. The judge actually agreed in her report there was no consent, instead she dismissed it saying it was non-sexual based on Carter Hart’s testimony that Foote was not naked. - In 2022, Alex Formenton & Dillon Dube BOTH CONFESSED to Hockey Canada that Cal Foote was naked during the splits. This was ruled inadmissible on a technicality. Other than Hart, no other witness dared to say Foote was clothed; they all pretended to not remember. With this information, at the very least, McLeod and Foote are guilty: - Foote performed a sexual act without consent. It does not make him a rapist, but it is a crime - McLeod is an accessory to that sexual assault If these two men were given the guilty verdict I strongly believe they deserved (even if it was a proverbial slap on the wrist; i.e. a 6-month house arrest), it would have been an amazing teaching moment for our nation while setting a modern standard for consent. The conduct of the others, including Hart, may not have been illegal. There was certainly not enough evidence to prove it was. But that does not mean what they did wasn’t morally reprehensible. The NHL and Hockey Canada both agreed. The NHL kept the players out of the league for months PAST the ruling, citing their own private investigation. Hockey Canada stood in the House of Commons and said “harm was caused” after paying out a civil settlement. But what Hart did was more than morally wrong. He lied under oath to protect his teammates. This is actually perjury. The judge by law is not privy to those 2022 confessions, but we as a public are. We are allowed to pass judgement in the court of public opinion. Hart is not a conquering hero who overcame adversity. He is a liar who abused his privilege and legal protection to obstruct justice. He is allowed to continue his career, and we are allowed to remind him of his abhorrent behaviour.
