Respect and I hope the petition is successful
Leading medical journal The Lancet publishes call to expel Israeli Medical Association over Gaza genocide —— Medical journal The Lancet has published a petition calling for the Israeli Medical Association to be boycotted and expelled from the World Medical Association over its failure to condemn what the petition describes as Israel's genocide against Palestinians and the collapse of Gaza's healthcare system. The campaign, launched by the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, Healthcare Workers for Palestine, and Doctors for Gaza, has so far received support from more than 1,150 healthcare professionals and medical organizations. The call for expulsion is expected to be raised at the World Medical Association's general assembly in October. The Israeli Medical Association opposed the move, arguing that its expulsion would not advance peace, healthcare, or human rights, and would instead create a precedent for using political pressure campaigns to isolate healthcare workers based on their nationality.

When I am telling you that I was never born, why go on asking me what were my preparations for the next birth? The moment you allow your imagination to spin, it at once spins out a universe. It is not at all as you imagine and I am not bound by your imaginings.

When Russia hosted the World Cup in 2018, it had to suspend normal visa rules for the tournament. Foreigners with tickets could enter visa-free, using a scheme called ‘Fan ID.’ Russia also had to do weird stuff to keep FIFA’s sponsors happy. For example, small shops near Fan Zones and stadiums could only sell Budweiser beer on match days. So yes, FIFA absolutely does dictate conditions to host governments when it suits FIFA. Infantino pretending otherwise is nonsense.
Infantino was asked by a BBC journalist if he's embarrassed by what has come to pass and does he accept he's lost control of his tournament here. His response: “in 2035, the Women’s World Cup, I think, will be in the UK. Would you find it normal that FIFA will dictate to the British government who to let in the country and who not to let in?” #FIFAWorldCup

Claude Fable one-shotted* a spring reverb for me today. Wrote the algorithm, tuned it against a reference impulse response, using a Nelder-Mead optimiser over the parameter space. Also generated these plots, then inspected them. *with four rounds of listening evals by me

This is needed by many. A public or private skills marketplace with sync and real time collaboration and also maybe it can switch backends, like notion, GDrive, docs etc.
What’s the best way for non developers to 1. share skills with their team 2. automatically enforce that it’s always updated for everyone if changes are made 3 allow others to update it centrally Github is not the best solution as it’s too clunky and doesn’t solve #2 Notion is a little better but can’t put code there I’m tempted to create my own tools but someone surely has created this already??

This is the right thing to do, it doesn't make sense to pay so much to a company that works against you. Anthropic may have arguably the best models now, but they don't have the best models for the value of the money. There are different setups that cost less and achieve the same
I've been a Claude Max user for well over a year now (personal account, not work). I didn't love limiting subscriptions to their harness, but understood and accepted that. If they are now going to lock out their best models to API only, and then also nerf said models, I'm out.

So funny 🤣🤣🤣 The models work best on specific questions, not this vague word salad.
"You're a world-class expert in code reviews. Your task is to inspect the code changes with emphasis on readability and maintainability." At the risk of sounding stupid, what does this even mean?

Everyone and your cousin is now trying to release an app and get some market share, because everyone thinks that having a market is a safe gateway to capital. This is desired because the jobs are supposed to die.

But, we are witnessing the toughest ever market for adoption, there are countless new apps and also the existing ones are able to ship much faster. So what are the winning plays? Probably one of:
1

1. New way of UX, a different way to engage with the app and 2. Finding a new market, obviously, but not sure how to explain this in this oversaturated market.

for me it feels surreal that we did it by hand for so long. I mean all that CSS and whatnot written by hand and remembering all these rules that a machine can remember better.
If your main skill is programming, you may want to start panicking. Unless you're a top 5% coder. Not sure what happened in the past month, but I have the feeling that it's game over for software development. Fable is making this more obvious, but it's not just that. Even at GPT 5.5 level, with the proper tools, it's pretty clear that we're not going back. There's no way that 3 years from now we're still doing any of the nonsense we've been doing for the past 70 years or so. We're gonna move to a much higher level of abstraction when interacting with computers. And if we engineers are doing that to ourselves, you can bet that we're gonna do it to pretty much every other white-collar job out there. I'm not prepping just yet (actually, I am), but definitely start figuring out plan B.

URGENT: On 14 June, a "Great Israeli Real Estate" event in London will market properties in illegal Israeli settlements — including Gush Etzion, Ma'ale Adumim, Negohot. @ICJP, @PILC and @ELSC have just written to the Met Police War Crimes Team & the Home Secretary and Business and Trade Secretary. This event needs to be cancelled immediately. Here's why it matters 🧵

BREAKING: "Greater Israel" is now marketed in London. Like in Montreal and in New York. Apartheid without borders. P.S. This explains why criticism of Israel is being restricted (and "anti-antisemitism" laws keep appearing). Apartheid is not only a crime. It is a business model.
