We could prevent diseases so much better but we haven't learned to listen to when biology whispers long (10 years) in advance. A key theme in Super Agers, too. sciencedirect.com/science/ar… @NathanPriceSci @ @nrappapo @BuckInstitute example below for Type 2 diabetes

Good that you posted a response, Peter. Agree, there is no defense for the now public and egregious interactions you had with Epstein. But the man you are today vs 10 years ago has not changed w/r to arrogance. Moreover, these days you are riddled with conflicts as a huckster for David Bars, AG-1 supplement, and so many other things that diminish your credibility. That's a shame.

I hope we as a society are moving the needle on cancer incidence. I remember when we all, and still do, celebrate metformin as an "anti-cancer" drug, associated with 10% cancer reduction in the Look AHEAD trial 👉pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4024… 25-47% reduction in certain cancers sound wildly large. Now we just need to get #GLP1s in the hands of populations #access @EliLillyandCo @novonordiskus jamanetwork.com/journals/jam…
New @JAMAOnc study shows GLP-1 meds linked to reduced #cancer risk in people with obesity. 25% less endometrial cancer, 47% less ovarian cancer, 31% fewer meningiomas. medcentral.com/endocrinology…

I am thrilled to share our @ACCinTouch Expert Consensus Statement and Concise Clinical Guidance on Medical #WeightManagement ⭐️ jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.jacc.… Special highlights: 👉GLP1 is just the beginning. Myriads of gut hormone permutations necessitate broader acceptance of the umbrella term: NuSH, nutrient-stimulated hormone 👉We reinforced sex- and ethnic-specific cutoffs for anthropometric measures of excess fat 👉Aligning with #obesity as a chronic disease, the patient’s highest lifetime non-pregnant weight should be considered their diagnostic baseline 👉 Any dose of #NuSH medication can be a maintenance dose, which is supported by our general ethical practice to Do No Harm and to use the lowest therapeutic dose to mitigate risks of side effects Co-written with my esteemed colleagues @DrMarthaGulati @DrOliviaGilbert @tygluckman @MKIttlesonMD @RishiRikhiMD and Joseph Saseen, we aimed to create a guidance for the #cardiology and #obesity communities that is as practical as possible. Clinicians should be able to quote directly from this Statement to appeal to payers and increase #access to high quality care. The obesity space in the US has been desperate for an update to our 2013 AHA/ACC/TOS guidelines. Think of this as a preview!

Lepodisiran Reduced Lp(a) Levels By Upto 95% 1️⃣ Elevated lp(a) levels are strongly associated with increased risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. 2️⃣ This new study tested lepodisiran—an extended-duration small interfering RNA (siRNA) that targets hepatic production of lp(a)—at doses of 16 mg, 96 mg, and 400 mg, with follow-up for around 180-540 days. 3️⃣ From day 60 to 180, the placebo-adjusted reduction in serum lp(a) levels was −40.8% (16 mg), −75.2% (96 mg), and −93.9% (400 mg). 4️⃣ From day 30 to 360, reductions were −41.2% (16 mg), −77.2% (96 mg), −88.5% (400 mg–placebo), and −94.8% (400 mg–400 mg), showing sustained efficacy over time. 5️⃣ Overall, lepodisiran significantly lowered lp(a) concentrations, with effects lasting well beyond 6 months after a single dose. @NutritionMadeS3 @theproof @DrNadolsky @DrKarlNadolsky @drmatthewnagra @MichaelAlbertMD @maciejbanach @drpablocorral @SABOURETCardio

Happy to share our post hoc analysis of SURMOUNT trials examining tirzepatide for #obesity based on reproductive stage (pre, peri, post #menopause) onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/… 👉Menopause was not explicitly captured in the trials but we approximated status with a variety of inputs 👉No difference in #weightloss outcomes based on stage 👉Tirzepatide appears effective for weight loss regardless of stage 👉Clear improvement observed in waist to height ratio compared to placebo Thank you to @EliLillyandCo for collaboration

The majority of the cases are unvaccinated children, who are susceptible to pneumonia and, rarely, brain swelling that can cause permanent damage. Two or three out of every 1,000 children with measles will die. An unvaccinated child who was hospitalized died Tuesday night. 🙏

After someone with measles coughs or sneezes — or even breathes — tiny droplets of the virus hang in the air for up to two hours, waiting to infect anyone who wanders by. Moreover, people with measles typically get very sick with a fever, cough & sore throat before the rash.

GLP-1RAs were associated with a greater reduction in major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in Asian individuals (HR 0.69, 95% CI 0.58, 0.83) compared to White individuals (HR 0.85, 95% CI 0.79, 0.91) The absolute MACE risk reduction was 2.9% in Asian people versus 1.4% in White people buff.ly/4bfa1CG

Insurance companies don’t pay for healthcare. Employers do. Patients do. Physicians do. Carriers just take a cut, while inflating costs and denying claims. The solution? Cut them out. Physician-led health plans are the future. #healthcare

Captivating insights! This study underscores the importance of not solely relying on Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) as the marker for low cardiovascular risk. Incorporating Thoracic Aortic Calcium (TAC) measurements could be vital for better risk stratification. This opens up new avenues for predictive diagnostics that go beyond traditional measures. How might this influence your current approach to cardio risk assessments? If the American People Only Knew… Same Surgery, Same Surgeon, Medicare Pays 2x More To Health Systems for No Reason The government claims to care about efficiency. Yet Medicare pays significantly more when a procedure is performed in a health system, owned outpatient department instead of an ASC, even though the care is the same, the outcomes are the same, and the only difference is who profits. @waysandmeans @GOPDoctors @doge
