Social media ban is obviously cruel and not about "protecting" children. Again, many brought it up, but it is the most clear consequence of seeing children as special ormanents who don't feel or enjoy, only supposed to reflect, mirror of the parent's social/parenting success

🏳️🌈✊️ VITÓRIA! O Gabinete do Japão aprovou hoje o primeiro plano básico para promover a compreensão pública sobre a diversidade de orientação sexual e identidade de gênero, conforme previsto na lei de 2023.
O documento orienta os governos nacional e locais a criarem materiais educativos, sistemas de consultoria e campanhas de conscientização, além de incentivar as empresas a prevenirem discriminação e assédio no trabalho. As escolas e universidades também deverão reforçar o suporte e rever currículos para formar profissionais mais preparados.
O projeto demorou 3 anos para ser aprovado e agora finalmente passará para a fase de implementação.

Extremely frustrating that this was so obvious miles away and that anyone with a functioning brain was sounding the alarm for years (really, decades) but so many people wanted to be puritan cattle that they cheered us getting here and are still cheering now
It's truly abominable how quickly it went to "no it's just porn" to "everything in the centralised Internet is on lockdown until we are able to arrest everyone for memes"

that’s the question isn’t it. what WILL she do? there are no youth clubs for her to attend. food, cinema tickets, any sort of third space activity is all too expensive. their parents are underpaid, saturday jobs don’t exist any more, children have truly been abandoned by the govt

Notice how all the politicians hyping up the social media ban are ignoring the biggest concern. Everyone has to show their id to prove they're old enough if they wish to make an account. "Children would live so much better!" Even though they can already if parents did their job.
