Groblersdal has been in the news
recently due to allegations made against two farmers who were arrested for
assault to do grievous bodily harm on a Security Guard. The court hearing continued today drawing attention from various political quarters including the farming community. The ACDP were present as neutral peacemakers due to last weeks scuffles between farmers and EFF political activists within the Court Precinct. These scuffles led to various police arrests, which included police brutality leveled against a citizen seeking to break through a police cordon.
The ACDP condemns both the provocations made by those intent to stir up strife and condemns the apparent ensuing police brutality levelled against certain citizens.
The ACDP were the first party to arrive on the scene this morning as peacemakers. The SAPS directed them to stand at a certain place. The EFF and ANC only arrived later and were also directed by the SAPS as to where to stand. (right next to the ACDP). It is very unfortunate that members of the public sought to misconstrue the situation, by declaring on public social media platforms, that the ACDP were standing with the ANC and EFF parties. The ACDP, to this extent, has made an affidavit at the police station. Our posters declare Godly Governance and Rev Meshoe for President. We will never stand with the ANC or EFF on anything. They are both sullied by ungodly
elements, policies and not least of all their recent application to the ICJ (backed by the EFF) against the nation of Israel, just as are false statements made against a person or organization by anyone. The ACDP's policies are clear. All citizens charged for apparent attempted murder or rape should not
get bail irrespective of colour, creed, culture or political affiliation.
The ACDP has always supported our farmers, stood against farm attacks and called for the reintroduction of Commandos to protect farmers and labourers alike, but we will never condone abuse, assault or the breaking of the law by anyone or by any organisation. We condemn farm attacks in the strongest possible terms and will do whatever it takes to keep our farmers safe. However, the incident under question has to do with assault of by two citizens on another.
We trust this clarifies our position and apologise to the public for any wrong perception created by us being there in a peacemaking role.
