My latest @WSJFreeEx: In Bernie Sanders, an outsider has traveled from the margins to the center of the Democratic Party—and remade it into a Democratic Socialist Party that embraces radicalism, antisemitism and redistribution. Link in replies.

Matt @Continetti slandered Hugh’s favorite decade —the ‘70s— and is obliged to answer for his attack on the decade that brought us Dylan’s Blood on the Tracks (and discussion of course of the looming MOU with Iran and Matt’s new @WSJ column on the lasting damage Bernie Sanders has done to the Democrats youtu.be/2Ep7NsH8-vc

To say @continetti has a smart take on an issue is to indulge in redundancy. But in today's @WSJFreeEx, Matt delivers a smart take on how Bernie Sanders is a kind of mirror image of Trump. Both outsiders came to dominate and remake their political parties. What legacies will they leave after they depart the stage? wsj.com/opinion/free-express…

What makes Bernie Sanders significant is his novelty. He alone is responsible for bringing socialism into the political mainstream, writes @continetti on.wsj.com/4ei8pKt

“Mr. Sanders’s rise is connected to Mr. Trump’s. Their power rises and falls together. Mr. Trump’s effect on the opposition is therefore different from Ronald Reagan’s. Reagan’s success convinced Democrats to reform and embrace the center, but Mr. Trump’s wins have provoked a mania for left-wing resistance.” @continetti wsj.com/opinion/free-express…

Released in 1975, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi was an animated television special directed by legendary animator Chuck Jones and based on the classic story by Rudyard Kipling. The story follows a brave mongoose who takes on two deadly cobras to protect the family that rescued him. For a generation of kids, it was one of those rare animated films that felt genuinely intense. The stakes were real, the villains were terrifying, and you couldn't help but root for Rikki-Tikki every step of the way. More than 50 years later, it's still remembered as one of the finest animated adaptations ever put on television. Did you watch Rikki-Tikki-Tavi growing up?
