One time was at a dinner in Palo Alto where I was the youngest attendee by 50 years. All were either founders or IPO benefactors. Every damn person at that table had a school, library, community center, or homeless shelter named after them in their hometowns.
No they won’t. The tech oligarchs are the most useless set of elites imaginable. No set of rich people in American history have been as useless a drain on society as they have

It’s just wild how improving where you came from and getting your name on a building used to be the endgame for making money in tech and is now a totally dead concept.

Once upon a time I could open Photoshop for a small weekend project and the UI was exactly how I had left it 2 weeks prior. I have been using this program for over a quarter of a century @Photoshop. Why did you completely remove the default swatches? What possible reason

Jon Husted’s net worth has increased by as much as $1.99 million since taking office and trading stocks. He’s looking out for himself, not Ohioans.
Public officials shouldn’t run for office to enrich themselves. If you can’t agree to stop trading stocks while in office, you shouldn’t be there in the first place.

What are all those labs of old OpenAI employees that raised a billion dollars doing? Anyone checking in on them?

The only reason anyone ever defended the existence of billionaires is bc of some theoretical good they’d do in the world and doing philanthropy at the type of scaling mindset they built their tech companies with. They never did that and broke the social contract 🤷‍♀️
If Bernie's 5% annual wealth tax on billionaires had been enacted in 2012, Elon Musk would be worth less than $365 billion instead of the $1.2 trillion that he's worth today. Elon would still be the wealthiest man alive & every family in America would have universal childcare.

Ryan Gosling revealed that he was originally cast in ‘The Lovely Bones,’ but after gaining 60 pounds, believing the character should be overweight, he was fired and replaced by Mark Wahlberg. “I just showed up on set, and I had gotten it wrong. Then I was fat and unemployed.”

Hey remember when they said Biden was gonna nationalize the AI labs or some bullshit

Apple’s LLM strategy is simply that it’s a commodity they don’t need to spend billions a year developing. They could get away with paying AI engineers wayyy less speed up control commodification by making it an open-weight non-export, mission driven rah rah Merica project.

The worst part is him saying the strike on the elementary school in Minab (that killed 168 schoolchildren and teachers) "is a use case that doesn't even violate our red lines."
CEO of Anthropic Dario Amodei awkwardly smiles through his answer to a question about why Claude AI directly contributed to the US Military bombing of the elementary school in Minab.

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

A new proposal in Ohio would let the state and utility companies take private property to build data center infrastructure. The proposal from the powerful Ohio Business Roundtable would even let land be taken from people before the owner gets paid. A document obtained by the Ohio Capital Journal shows the Ohio Business Roundtable recommending that lawmakers change eminent domain law so that it includes "infrastructure projects," a category broad enough to include data centers and projects that power them. ohiocapitaljournal.com/2026/…
