On Friday 27 March 2026 the Cyprus Women Bicommunal Coalition had a very constructive and fruitful meeting with the Technical Committee on Gender Equality, where prospects for joint activities to advance common objectives were discussed!

While in Cyprus, I was inspired to meet with women’s groups. Women’s participation in peacemaking efforts is not just a matter of fairness and equality, it is smart peacemaking. I urge the leaders to engage with them and other civil society reps and incorporate their views.

Junior Ministers Aisling Reilly and Pam Cameron welcomed the Cyprus Women Bi-Communal Coalition to Stormont Castle during their study visit to Belfast. The group of political leaders from the Turkish-Cypriot and Greek-Cypriot communities were keen to hear about the peacebuilding work progressed here and discuss the contribution of political leaders in the peace process.
