Starting a 19th St NW neighborhood list. In a way, it was refreshing *not* to have the contact info for my neighbors, sharing information in real-world chats in the alley or on the sidewalk. But email is helpful to share news, plan events and help each other out.

We are really excited about the impact this tech will have on families and on our teams. Thanks @AdamTuss for a great story.

Best day of the year - the truck touch! So fun to be there with my family and now with the team from @OSSEDC. Mr Caldwell has been driving with us for more than 40 years! Thanks to @DCDPW for hosting.

Dining at Chef Uchi’s counter was one of the greatest food experiences I’ve had, anywhere. The perfect lunch. Can’t wait to try this new spot.
Kiyomi, from one of DC's top sushi chefs, is back! It opens Tuesday, April 14 for lunch only with a $40 sushi or handroll omakase menu, plus a la carte offerings. Dinner coming soon. All the details: washingtonian.com/2026/04/13…

New Record! @wmata Navy Yard 🚇 had 76K customers on Sat w/ Petalpalooza, @Nationals & @dcunited games, for the busiest ridership day EVER at that station even beating the Nats World Series run in 2019! Plus we moved the @Capitals game & big zoo crowds. Metro moves our region!

Of nerdy urbanist interest: Next week the D.C. Council will cast a first vote on @BrianneKNadeau's bill to allow for new D.C. buildings up to six stories tall to have only a single stairwell in them, instead of the current two. Proponents say it creates more residential space.

DC snow removal needs better operations management. I know the snow is hard -- I've shoveled out my sidewalk and alley -- and I know they're making progress. But we need: - Updates on progress and process - Expected timelines - Thresholds for school re-opening

It's a region-wide problem. And it's made worse by poor communication. We deserve great public services and public officials who hold themselves accountable to deliver.

This is awesome news for Dupont. We're very excited for new neighbors, just a few blocks away from us. It will be interesting to see what the developer does with the building. With the scale of the project, it's a real opportunity for family-sized units.
DC leads the nation in office-to-residential conversion.   The Geneva is the latest example.   As the largest office-to-residential conversion in the District’s history, this space will have 532 new homes—60 affordable.   Let's keep winning for DC.

Great point here about insourcing oversight and core functions for DOT work. Politicians don't usually discuss how they'll deliver the results they promise, but it's really important!

Sometimes I feel like we don’t talk about the best way to avoid these fines: don’t speed.
New $1B budget problem? Republicans wanting to ban DC's speed cameras call them a "cash grab." Bowser says their proposal would endanger residents & blow a $1B hole in the 5-yr financial plan. w/ @rachelweinerwp wapo.st/3Z0kdtl
