This is a great graph. The point is not time. The x axis is gdp per capita. The point is that growth does benefit all. The idea growth only benefits the rich is dramatically false. timely given Stieglitz, Pketty et al recent degrowth noise.
A way to see the amazing history of economic growth and declining poverty over the last two centuries.

You've heard of grizzly bears, panda bears, polar bears, black, and brown bears. But could I interest you in this other type of bear?

If SpaceX would have stayed in California, the state would have received tens of billions of dollars in additional tax revenue. Politicians chasing Elon away with demagogic rhetoric about the "rich" have left Californians worse off.
Americans are struggling to pay for groceries and gas while Elon Musk becomes a TRILLIONAIRE. When the federal government is for sale, the rich get richer and everyone else gets shafted. The system is rigged.

The Spurs know how to TAKE the lead, they just don't know how to HOLD the lead. And that's really the most important part of the lead: the holding

“Degrowth is the ultimate luxury belief. It's dreamed up by tenured professors in Paris and progressive think-tank pundits in Brussels” bingo
If Ayn Rand had invented @PikettyWIL, critics would have said she created an unbelievably ridiculous supervillain, writes @veroderugy at @reason. But his idiotic plan for global economic controls isn't fiction, alas... reason.com/2026/06/11/the-ec…

Relevant for tax policy stuff at the UN as well.
One more thing here. Folks behind this report are very UN-linked. Literally started by a non-economist w/ a legal studies and UN background his staff (NONE of the co-directors at NEEP are economists) big UN and ILO events. Worse than just a nonsense independent group. 1/3

"Taxing the Rich with Jared Walczak" sounds like @RichardMorrison and I got together to tax the rich, but in fact we had a good discussion on high earner taxes on the @freethe_economy podcast. open.spotify.com/episode/5BA…

During these playoffs, my wife has consistently refused to watch games until there's no more than about 3 minutes left in the game. "It's not competitive until then." She is currently waiting for her viewpoint to be confirmed once again tonight.

Machinery and equipment is exempt by right for manufacturing in almost every state, because retail sales taxes aren't supposed to fall on production. (They all still do, to some degree.) Data centers getting the same exemption, usually with stricter limits, isn't a giveaway.
BREAKING: Ohio secretly gave 100% sales tax breaks, lasting up to 40 years, to tech giants for data centers, per Cleveland.com. The exemptions—signed by Gov. Kasich—give Google, Meta and Amazon at least $600 million each. Legislators say the contracts can't be undone.

On the day Social Security's Trustees Report is released, it's worth puncturing some conventional wisdom: that Social Security's financial troubles are due only to changing demographics, in particular low birth rates and rising life spans. That's not the whole story. /1

This report proposes: - Limiting developed world annual economic growth to 0–0.5% - Capping GDP per capita at $69k in every country - Requiring a three-day working week - Reducing construction hours worked by 70%, manufacturing by 87%, and leisure by 58% (in absolute terms)
The world today is characterized by large-scale inequalities. And a climate crisis is looming over us. We urgently need a new vision for global progress in the 21st Century. One that grounds human development and equality in planetary habitability. What would it take to achieve high prosperity and equality while remaining within planetary boundaries? The World Inequality Lab is very excited to launch the #GlobalJusticeReport. [1/7]
