I want to address this (fair point!) and explain why sleuthing IS "minding my business".

It all started in February 2020, when a graduate student showed me a paper and said he wanted to replicate the behavioral data in the mouse behavior core that I run. I looked at the data and told him that it is not real, and that it would be a waste of his time and mine trying to replicate it. Turns out, the senior author of the paper was coming to Columbia to give a talk. I went to the talk, and sat silently through what I knew were highly dubious data without being able to prevent people (elite scientists at Columbia!) from wasting their time working with this person. My attempt to criticize was hushed. ,,,,,,long story short. That person has EIGHT papers retracted now. That IS minding my own business.
Eliezer Masliah, former Director of Neuroscience at NIA, was in charge of many millions of grant money that my clients (Columbia people who pay service fees to use my core are "clients") looked up to, sought help from, tried to impress, and worked with, had significant influence on my work and that of Columbia scientists. Contributing to 60% of the dossier against Masliah IS minding my own damn business.
My recent work on busting a lot of papers in the field of chemistry and environmental science IS minding my business. Making sure the dollars spent in climate change research and green energy is not wasted on trying to replicate fake studies IS minding my own damn business, as a citizen on this earth.
Thank you.
