Good to get a bit of well-wishing from the guy who once tweeted that when he saw me in the street he booed and if his wife hadn't been with him, he didn't know what he would have done.

It is now verified that the event was marketing properties in illegal settlements. I presume you will now be retracting this statement, apologising, and condemning the synague for hosting the event.
We are deeply disturbed at the wholly unjustified protest called for this morning outside a synagogue. We are calling on the police to ensure such protests are kept a significant distance from places of worship to prevent intimidation to members of the Jewish community.

The Israeli Supreme Court, supposedly the last bastion of Israeli "democracy", just signed Dr Husam Abu Safiya's death warrant. The court rejected his appeal and ordered for the continuation of his unlawful detention, knowing full well that he is being held in abhorrent conditions, without cause or indictment and being subjected to torture on a regular basis. Hostage taking, torture, rejection of the most basic human rights; with this kind of democracy, who needs fascism? Free Dr Husam Abu Safiya now!

"Where someone has committed criminal damage, that can be dealt with using ordinary criminal law - Rather than using broad and poorly defined anti terrorism powers."
In a disastrous ruling, the Court of Appeal in London has overruled the High Court and upheld the government's decision to ban Palestine Action as a terrorist group. Defining a protest group as terrorists has created an absurd situation where thousands of people have been arrested for holding up signs. Learn more:

Meanwhile, the heroic doctor's torture by Israel continues. They continue to torture Dr. Hussam Abu Sefia for the crime of not abandoning his patients. Without laying charges, offering him anything resembling due process, Israel is killing him slowly. One day, everyone will say they were against this

REVEALED: Jewish activists @JAZA_UK have shown us material from inside an Israeli property event in London yesterday, which shows that illegal settlements on Palestinian land were on sale in the UK. Activists gained access to the event, spoke to numerous developers about the properties for sale in Israeli settlements - which are illegal under British and international law - before they were ejected for disrupting the speeches. The Board of Deputies, which calls itself a representational body for British Jews, claimed that all properties being sold were inside Israel, however these pamphlets clearly show the opposite is true.

This is wrong on the suffragettes but it's also wrong on Palestine Action. The court said Palestine Action acted covertly. But Pal Action operated very much in the public domain, sharing videos and content. They had a Twitter and Instagram account! It's founders Huda Ammori and Richard Barnard were known and widely interviewed about how they operated. In July 2024 Prospect had a profile of them both called "How to shut down a weapons factory." Pal Action contributed op-eds and actionists were widely interviewed (often after they were acquitted, like the Elbit 3 were in 2021). It's only true inasmuch as they didn't broadcast their targets ahead of time because that would lead to them being stopped. Duh, of course not. Did the suffragettes publish pamphlets ahead of time saying where they were going to smash windows and chain themselves to railings? Did the anti-apartheid movement and Lord Peter Hain phone the government to let them know when they were going to invade sports pitches or lock themselves to stadia? As ever, it's hard not to despair at the British judiciary and it's deference to government power. Don't forget it was the same courts that decided it was ok for the UK to send F-35 parts to Israel despite the very clear risk that they contribute to war crimes, saying that it wasn't for the courts to gainsay executive decisions - decisions taken by politicians funded by pro-Israeli donors and taking free all-expenses trips to Israel.
The Lady Chief Justice: Palestine Action was not a direct action civil disobedience protest group like the suffragettes, but used violence to destroy property The suffragettes burned down country houses & train stations, bombed churches & sent letter bombs to politicians.

Israeli troops are still attempting to advance in Southern Lebanon. I was there in November 2024 when they took more territory in the "ceasefire" than they had been able to occupy in fighting. They are trying it again.

The fact that your government has made it illegal for me to answer yes is a damning testament to your flagrant disregard for civil liberties. This may be targeted at those taking action against the genocide, but it sets a very dangerous precedent that puts everyone at risk.

BREAKING: The Court of Appeal has backed the government's appeal against the High Court and reinstated the proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation. As I've been noting for some time, this was always going to happen. The police ignored the High Court's ruling of proscription as unlawful and continued arresting people as terrorists for holding placards stating: "I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action." On Friday, Judge Johnson upgraded the criminal damage convictions of the Filton Four to terrorism offences in his sentencing, even though at the time of sentencing Palestine Action was not, in the eyes of the courts, considered a terrorist organisation. It was as though the High Court decision never happened. We have been subjected to legal threatre to make it look as if the judiciary have carefully weighed our most cherished and basic rights against the interests of the British state in continuing its complicity in the Gaza genocide. This has all been a stitch-up to keep the focus on the faux-illegality of opposing a genocide rather than the very real illegality of the British state colluding in atrocities that have killed many tens of thousands โ€“ and more likely, hundreds of thousands โ€“ of civilians in Gaza. Anyone who has supported this dangerous farce should hang their heads in shame.
