Over the past few months, as part of the CATS team, there’s been weeks of back-to-back planning meetings towards the execution of Cardano Africa Tech Summit 2026, Nairobi - the first of its kind in Africa. During the event days, I found relentless joy in finally meeting and putting physical presence to all the amazing people I’ve known and been working with throughout my five years of being in the Cardano ecosystem. My engagements featured staff from @Cardano_CF, @IntersectMBO, @AnzensOfficial, @Rejuve_AI, @UNDP, @BCentreNBO, @__prismaevents, @AxcelAfrica etc and it was an amazing experience. Even though busy moments made it impossible for me to capture the moments with photographs, I am certain that the discussions I had with every single person truly created long-standing memories until the next physical gathering. GM #Cardano It’s been 365 days since we signed a simple transaction to lock 500 ADA and earn the certificate of operating as a delegate representative in Cardano. Our journey of governance participation didn’t start there though, we were deeply involved right from the birth of the implementation of the Voltaire era and the records are there to show for it. Leading to our registration, we had hosted workshops to bridge the knowledge gap between the African community and Cardano’s evolution as the ship was sailing really fast, even more than a martin. One major milestone we are very proud of is how we were able to instigate the interest of Africa’s participation in Cardano’s governance which is evident in the massive participation level recorded at the Constitutional Convention. Right from that event, we have seen some Africans taking the mantle to serve as DReps, represented in various Intersect committees, sharing their thoughts on governance topics and showing up for community engagement mechanisms to brainstorm ideas necessary for scaling this MVG. Now, you may be wondering what Wada DRep’s participation in governance on-chain looks like despite the off-chain bit of work. Let me quench your thirst. Since October 01, 2024, when Wada DRep was registered, we have voted with well thought rationale on 60 proposals out of 64 eligible. That is about 94% rationale provision rate which is an enormous act as a responsible DRep. Are you wondering what happened to the 6% deficit? Well they are not lost on us. Our vote for 3 out of the 4 deficit proposals are yet to be submitted while the remaining 1 referred to a simple “No” vote on an incomplete proposal. In essence, Wada DRep could confidently boast of 100% participation level as a delegate representative and we are super proud of that. While this is an anniversary, we also see it as an opportunity to reflect, not alone but with you on how far we have come and your support rendered through delegation. Talking about delegation, are you delegating to Wada DRep? Our delegation hovering around 12.8 million ADA from 90 distinct delegators humbles us and inspires us to keep representing the good people. On the same soft note, it is essential to note that more grease to our elbows would definitely aid our effective participation and for that matter, we urge you to consider delegating to Wada DRep as we aim to reach x2 of our delegators count and ≤50 million ADA delegation stake by our 2nd anniversary.
