Great to see our collaboration with @ecahoon2 and colleagues from UNL on the front cover of @PlantBiotechJ, highlighting our project making a new sustainable source of astaxanthin. Harnessing the power of plant metabolism to make useful compounds.
Important update on the exploitation of our omega-3 technology - really pleased to now be working with @NuseedGlobal to help deliver additional new sources of plant-derived EPA DHA in camelina.

In a great collaboration led by @ecahoon2 we engineered Camelina to make astaxanthin, which is used in aquafeed diets (to give a pink hue). We used genes from the Adonis plant - picture below gives a clue why!

Enjoyed a small camelina & crop biotech conference with colleagues from Lund U, Swedish U of Ag Sciences & Rothamsted Red this week in Lund & Alnarp, Sweden. @JohnathanNapie1@UNL_AgResearch@UNLresearch@Ro
In plant lipid community, we don’t say “hejdå/goodbye/再见”. We say“Vi ses/so long/再会”. Great to have @ecahoon2@JohnathanNapie1 visit Skåne where oilseed plants are one of the icons inspiring generations of farmers, researchers and innovators.
It was a genuine pleasure and honour to visit Sweden and discuss exciting opportunities with colleagues from SLU and Lund. And great to catch up with old friends too! Events like this make me more sure our science can really help solve global challenges.

Conference photo for 26th International Symposium on Plant Lipids (ISPL). Thank you all who made the trip from around the world to Lincoln. More photos of the conference will be shared soon with conference participants. @ASPB@UNL_IANR@UNLresearch@aocs
Big thank you to ISPL event planners Lisa Maupin & Stephanie Vendetti from UNL Office of Research and Innovation and my co-organizers Ruth Welti and Kent Chapman @RuthWelti@UNLresearch
