THANK YOU, LORD!
Today marks the 15th anniversary of our purchase of the multimillion-pound headquarters of our ministry in London, and to God be the glory.
The building is a sign that God still speaks. On the 11th of June 2011 at about 2 pm, I heard the voice say to me, “Make the call now”. I was able to discern that it was the number someone gave me in 2010 about the sale of church buildings. I called the number, and on 12 February 2011, we visited the building, and by the 15th of June 2011, we collected the keys. No building committee and no registration with an estate agent, but we got it regardless.
Six months later, I heard another voice saying, “Pay off the mortgage,” and we obeyed and cleared it in five and a half years. Then, COVID-19 came and had no power over our ministry.
Three things I want to say to any pastor in the Western World are: you should make securing a place of worship a priority. People come and go, but the church building remains for the upcoming generation. I have seen churches in the UK go from 1,000 members to 20 because, when they faced a crisis, many people left, and they could not recover without a building. Don’t waste resources and spend your building funds on hosting expensive guest speakers. That will not cause your ministry to stand.
The second point is always to remember to thank God and the people who made your dreams come true.
The final point I want to make is that time waits for no one. I cannot believe that it was 15 years ago that we bought the building, which
@sam_adeyemi dedicated, and we had the privilege of hosting Pastor William Kumuyi, who was the 1st pastor to preach in the building. So, make time for it and start that project now.
To all our members, past and present, friends of our ministry, and all our partners around the world, I say thank you.
To God, our provider, I say we will never forget how good you are. Thank you, Jesus.
