Carbon-free energy is the most valuable resource on the planet. Carbon-free energy is the most undervalued resource on the planet.

This is a very important insight
Agents should do the thinking, code should do the doing.

I randomly discovered this recently while trying to quiz my kids on things they should know. We looked this up on Claude and literally thought it might be hallucinating the answer.
California, the name, has an extremely interesting etymology. It's (probably) named after a mythical island paradise, where Black warrior women adorned in gold rode wild beasts, from the book The Adventures of Esplandián, published in 1510.

This isn’t wrong, but an important caveat is that the two sides need to work together. Demand-side has to be about time of day savings. Supply should be about LCOE. Consumer bills are downstream of grid utilization.

Indeed. The history of tech impact on labor is well-documented, including by those named. It's unpredictable, but usually improves productivity and leads to expansion. Law & white-collar workers aren't horse-buggy drivers or elevator operators. They will use AI and adapt.
Dario is wrong. He knows absolutely nothing about the effects of technological revolutions on the labor market. Don't listen to him, Sam, Yoshua, Geoff, or me on this topic. Listen to economists who have spent their career studying this, like @Ph_Aghion , @erikbryn , @DAcemogluMIT , @amcafee , @davidautor

I really hate this framing. I don’t know why he keeps doing this. There are so many other counter narratives that position AI as a tool of empowerment. How about “AI will help you build your dream company and finally leave that dumb corporate job”?

So much of our energy system is backward and most of that is due to politics and regulatory capture

Demand side energy markets need better governance generally. Starts with proper M&V which makes fraud way harder to perpetuate.
Protecting Americans from unfair energy costs is my solemn responsibility as @FERC Chairman. Tonight’s landmark penalty involving American Efficient sends a resounding message: fraud and deception have no place in our energy markets. More here: ferc.gov/news-events/news/fe…

The president’s threat to wipe out an entire civilization is dangerous, reckless, and would constitute a war crime under both domestic and international law. This rhetoric undermines U.S. credibility, endangers civilians, and places American personnel in untenable legal, moral, and mortal jeopardy. Anyone in the Trump Administration who acts on this threat and violates the law must be held accountable, including criminal liability. The urgency of the situation demands immediate action. This is the type of moment the 25th Amendment was drafted to address. The president is unfit to serve, and lives are at stake. The entire chain of command has a responsibility in this moment to step up and put their country over their loyalty to the president.
