Just 3 months after securing a SSDAB radio transmitter licence from @Ofcom experts from @viamux and @AndyBoltonProd installed the antenna on Blackpool Tower.
A few more hurdles and testing and we’ll have a host of new local radio stations on air in days.
Amazing vid @GedMills
Congratulations to Mrs Danielle Barnett, one of the founders of Radio Wave in Blackpool, who receives the MBE for people with disabilities and their carers in Lancashire, in the King’s Birthday Honours.
The team at Fun Coast Digital are saddened by the passing of our good friend Linda Nolan.
Linda was fiercely proud of Blackpool and did everything she could to promote the resort. Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.

If a certain TV show has reminded you how fab-u-las Blackpool is, don’t forget you could broadcast your radio station on DAB from the top of the iconic Blackpool Tower. And remember, places are Strictly limited!
The team behind the DAB small-scale transmitter in Blackpool - Alistair, Tony and John.
We’ve been involved in local radio here for 30 years.
If you have a radio station and want to broadcast locally (and affordably) from the top of Blackpool Tower, just get in touch!
@Ofcom
As aerial sites go, ours is pretty impressive - even in the rain!
If you live close by, get down to see the illuminations before they end on New Year’s Day, oh and tune in to one of the 11 small-scale DAB radio stations we have in Blackpool.
A massive congratulations to @AmandaHolden seen here on the radio deck of Blackpool Tower next to our DAB transmitter just about to climb to the flagpole, the first untrained person to achieve that in 130 years!
And, just like that, it’s a year since we installed a transmitter at Blackpool Tower.
Thanks to @Ofcom small-scale DAB initiative, the Fylde Coast now has about a dozen stations broadcasting to 250,000 locals and 19m visitors annually.
