For both #ITIL ⊂ #ITSM ⊂ #VeriSM and #ServiceGovernance (part of #ITIL & #VeriSM) the #ServiceDesk is only a small part of #Governing & #Managing #Services it is just one, #internal service, in the #Corporate #ServicePortfolio - see this example:

It is compounded by the #misunderstanding that service desks are minor, technical, irrelevances to #business #operation.
Most organisations haven’t even heard of what #service #governance is, so boards think only of ‘service management’, reasonably concluding it is irrelevant.
