As we seek to impact population health we strongly encourage members of both genders to pursue colon cancer screening at the age of 45.The task force has outlined multiple options. Any screening for colon cancer is better than no screening.
For the last 10 years or more there has been a gradual “shift to the left”in the incidence of colon cancer. The incidence has been disproportionately increasing in this population compared to other age groups.
The recent recommendations by USPSTF(United States Polyp Study Task Force) to start screening for colon cancer at the age of 45 for all citizens has been welcomed and long-awaited for.
