Our appreciation in Diabetologia of Steve Ashcroft who sadly passed away in November. Steve made fundamental contributions to our understanding of beta cell glucose sensing including the substrate site hypothesis and the role of KATP channels.

All true. But the same rigour should be applied to ALL the antibodies we use. Those against glucokinase are a case in point.
In some of these papers, glp1r detection is a small element. In others it's a large element. Don't trust antibody vendors, and do the legwork. As a field we are always happy to provide reagents/models to help with validation.
