My first ever TV interview for a news channel (CNBC) nearly 7 years ago. Nervousness and excitement both were riding high. Market intelligence & insights weren't my challenge, it was speaking to a camera (wan't used to this kinda setup ). Took some time to get adjusted but continue to improve with each interview/debate that followed.
The world is hungry and there are billions of people out there who are in need of your offerings, expertise or skill set. The only problem is, they just don't know that yet. Such interview/debate opportunities bring you closer to leads and prospective customers. My social reach and connections jumped up significantly since then. My customer base (India) increased by 7x and I am signing more partnership agreements with ecosystem players - likes of IAMAI, Nasscom, BigCIOShow, World Tech Expo, MWC - than ever before.
All you need is, total control on your offerings that can surprise prospects with mind boggling results. In my case, the strength is business outreach, market intelligence, and research capabilities.
We are living in an era when a majority of companies are operating with an objective of earning business, and not earning customers. The silver lining is that their style makes business scenario much easier if you are honest to your servings, be it talking about insights/intelligence during interviews or approaching prospects. Customers nowadays are looking for vendors they don't have to chase or indulge in endless follow ups.
